| I carry a DSLR and a point and shoot. My wife carries a high zoom digital and a smaller point and shoot. That way, I don't have to worry about which lens is on the DSLR and we always have a camera handy for those spontaneous pictures.

| Both! I don't have an issue with carrying my dSLR all day (I do it every Saturday for 10-12 hours at a wedding!!!), but I like the P&S when we are out and about I'm not looking for anything spectacular.

| If you just intend to take family portraits (and depend on PhotoPass photographers to help out in that regard), then the point-and-shoot is probably enough. Me? There are too many opportunities for "creative" photography to depend solely on a p&s. If you do bring the SLR, give serious consideration to a tripod, too, since many of those creative opportunities (fireworks and other night scenes) cry out for a tripod.

| I never go anywhere without my SLR. What good is having a "good" camera if you don't use it to take the most important pics of the year, i.e. your vacation pics in the most photogenic spot on Earth? Carrying a heavy and expensive SLR around WDW can be a challenge. It requires a little different attitude than carrying a pocket-size P&S, and for the first few days you'll be scared witless that something bad will happen to it. But once you get used to it, and start looking at the pics, you'll never want to go back to using a cheap camera at WDW! What to carry with the camera is personal preference. I prefer to carry just the camera, a few spare memory cards, one spare battery, my remote shutter release, a lens cloth, and a pocket-size tripod (I add my Speedlight flash unit for special ocasions when I'll be shooting indoors a lot, like the MouseFest MegaMouseMeet). |

| We took both our DSLR and our point and shoot, but used the DSLR almost exclusively.

| Ha!!! Lately when I go to a race, I pack the dSLR (Sony A100), the SLR (Minolta HTsi) and a Sony D7 P&S, Along with a 500mm, a 750mm, two 50mm, a 35-175mm and a 28mm. I'm about to pop for (choke) an 18mm. Also a tripod and a monopod. For a race weekend I'll pack 12-14 rolls of 400, 5 or 6 rolls of 2400 (all hand rolled, say 45 exposures) and lots of memory and spare batteries. For our last vacation we just took the dSLR, the 35-75 and the P&S.
