What Photo Editing Software do you use?

I am just curious as to what photo editing software(s) folks have found to be helpful as I am beginning to do much more with my photos before printing than I ever have before.

Currently, I have only Picasa (free from Google) on my laptop as it is school issued. We have Microsoft Picture It Express 9 (came with computer) and HP Photosmart Express (came with printer). After discussions with my MBIL, I'm thinking about Corel, but I'd love to hear what you all have found beneficial.

Well Cam.....

I prefer Adobe Photoshop CS3, but I have ACDSee, Corel, Paintshop Pro, Picassa, Olympus Master, Photoshop Elements, Irfanview and a few others loaded on one computer or another and they all work okay, it's jut a matter of what you're used to and what suits you best. As well as what you can afford...

I take a lot of pictures, and sometimes I need to process them quick and "good", so I tend to experiment with the various programs to see what does what and what helps me the most for what situation...

I use Creative Memories' Memory Manager for everything - photo organization and management as well as for cropping and editing. I love it.

I use Photoshop CS3 too and I love it, but I've been using Photoshop since version 1.0 (a long, long, time ago ). It's a professional program that does have a higher learning curve and many features. It's also pretty expensive compared to other "home" marketed photo editors. Adobe makes Photoshop Elements for the home user which offers more fundamental editing features and ease of use. It's also less expensive.

Ok -- I'm really glad I made this post as the mention of Adobe Photoshop got me thinking. My work laptop got some upgrades from Adobe and guess what I just checked and I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. Didn't even realize it was there, but I knew I had Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, so I thought there might also be a photo program. Now I'll have to try it out and see if it works for me.

My DH can get some of the more expensive programs through the school system, purchasing off what is a called a state bid list, but I like to experiment before I invest money (even if it's a bargain).

for the ideas and triggering my memory, too.

I have several that I like to use: Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10, Photoshop/Photoshop Elements and Micrografx are my favorite software to use.
I also recently purchased Pinnacle studiop plus/studio ultimate set and it promises to be the best one yet...it is very advanced in what can be done with it! (It even came with a green screen for use with video editing and more.

I always used Photoshop Elements until I got my new Mac, and I haven't purchased a program for this computer yet. I did like Photoshop though!

I'm a Mac user and have have loved iPhoto. Especially the way it organizes photos. The photo editing is probably a little limited for some but for me it works. I may investigate Aperture in the near future.

Another vote for Photoshop CS3. I didn't start using it at version 1...but at 3... which is long enough for me!
