| Gotta Brag a Bit I have been ramping up my hobby photography in the past 4 years by taking a class, utilizing printed literature, and taking an exhorbitant amount of photos of everything. I started entering some of my photographs at our State Fair each year as well. There are 10 categories for entry in the department (5 color and 5 in monochrome/B&W etc.). Every year there are literally several thousand total photographs entered. Of course this still means there could be several hundered photographs per category. So far nothing -not even an honorable mention. UNTIL THIS YEAR!!!! 1 of my phographs not only got a ribbon.....I Got the 1st place blue one!!!!! It is a B&W candid photograph of my dad. I was so excited to find that I have finally gotten and award for my photography, I just had to share this news. The only thing that would make it better would be if they would provide us with some feedback in the form of the points earned in the judging criteria so that we can know how to improve what we do in taking pictures.

| Congratulations!!!! Feedback is nice, however, over the years I have found that what pleases the judges today, might not please the same judges tomorrow. Again, Congratulations, it is nice to be recognized!!!

| Here it is Here is the photo that is a copy of the one that won the category. It was titled: "Patriarchal Wisdom", as each entry had to be titled as part of the theme which was: timeless human spirit portrait or candid taken in black and white. I edited the origina; to clone out the busy background, but did not save the edit so this is the original with background. I am still not sure why I can't get my pics to show up large like others on the site. I can't figure out why mine come in as thumbnails! And I joined the passporter club too, so I had hoped my pics would somhow show up larger.
