| Hmmm which lens(es)? I'm looking at things I need to pack and I always over pack so I'm trying to decide just what i'm going to bring camera wise. Obviously I'm going to bring the main body and lens (28mm-200mm Quantaray) but I'm debating taking my "cheapo" 500mm lens (the only times I can think at the moment that I'd use it would be in low light situations, so it'd be tough considering those situations there are tons of people side by side and so bumping would be a major issue.) then, there's the 55mm lens that I have that rarely gets used because I use the zoom lens more times than not. though for some portrait sessions I do switch out and use the 55mm more) I know I'm going to take a tripod, and of course batteries/charger/memory cards go without saying (and yet, I said it lol), but I'm wondering basically about the lenses.... and if I want to rent anything... if budget allows... *sigh* I dunno, maybe I'm crazy (okay, so I think that also goes without saying)

| Are those the 35mm equivalent focal lengths on the DSLR, or the raw focal lengths? If the 28-200 is the 35mm-equivalent focal length, then you're pretty well covered as far as I'm concerned. If it has good macro performance and a reasonable maximum aperture, what could be bad? I usually feel handcuffed unless I'm covered all the way down to a 28mm equivalent, and I've rarely found more than 300mm equivalent to be necessary on the high side. I always like having a good macro capability at WDW, and a moderate tele (like a 100mm-equivalent) with a wide maximum aperture for night shots might be nice (I don't seem to take many wide angle shots at night).

| I'm with Dave on this one. My new vacation motto is, "One body. One lens." It's just so much easier that way. I actually purchased a Tamron 18-250 for every day use. But I dropped it and it randomly FUBARs, so I'm in the market for something similar. If you're a Canon shooter, Canon just announce their 18-200IS. I'm seriously considering it to replace the Tamron. 18mm is very nice on a 1.6 crop factor. Cheers Craig

| I generally carry a 40-150 (80-300 35 equivalent) on the DSLR, and I carry a 10 or 12 MP point and shoot. the DSLR will shoot most everything i want, and what it don't, the point and shoot covers. This next trip I may carry both DSLR bodies in the parks (we'll still be pushing a baby stroller) and put the 40-150 on one body and the 14-45 (28-90) on the other, just to see how it goes...

| I took two lenses this past June, but discovered that I seldom even used the telephoto, so it's probably going to stay home next summer. It truly was easier to use the one body and the one lens.

| I generally carry two lenses with me in the parks. I shoot with Nikons and take the Nikkor 17-55 f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8 lenses with me. I shoot with the D3 which is a full frame, no lens crop factor, so I get a true wide angle view with the 17-55. |
