| DH and I are doing a no kids trip to WDW in 29 days. He has a Nikon D60 with a circular polarizer, UV and florescent filters, and 18-55, 55-200 lens. He is visually impaired so they come with VR and auto focus. What should he bring to get the best pics of all the beautiful flowers and topairies? He has only had is camera a few months and we are still experimenting and have had much of an opportunity for "sunny" photos since we live in the frigid north! I'll be taking a small kodak easy shot but will probably leave most of the picture taking to him. Thanks in advance! |

| Normally I'd recommend a tripod, so he can do good quality close-up photography, and a remote shutter release, which always helps when doing tripod work. Even if the VR is capable of helping reduce camera shake, I still like the stability that comes when shooting close ups with a tripod (it's often hard to stay framed on a small subject when working up close, on one's knees, etc.) Overall, though, neither of your lenses has true macro focusing capabilities (for extreme close ups). If that kind of photography appeals to you/your husband, there's the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm macro lens, which gets very positive reviews.

| With those two lenses, I would recommend good batteries and lots of memory He'll do good with those two lenses. I doubt that he'll want to get really up close, however, with those lenses he can get full frame without crawling up in them. I've carried similar lenses and gotten many good pictures of the festival. Remember to enjoy yourselves while shooting ![]()
