| Canon Rebel XSi: opinions I purchased a DSLR 2 weeks ago, it is the Canon Rebel XSi (12 mp). For any of you who have this camera: What do you think of it? How does it stack up in your opinion agains other Rebels/other DLSR cameras? Just curious if you think I have a decent camera ( I owned a Deigital REbel 6 mp for several years and decided to upgrade to more mp for larger printing options). Any advice? Any concerns with this camera, any disadvantages? Seriously...I like it, but am curious what others who have tried it out/used it or actually own it think about it.

| I think the XSi is a fine body and a step in the right direction for Canon. It has many features that pro-sumer models didn't have and some pro bodies didn't just a few years ago. As long as you're happy with it and it does what you want it to do, that's all that truly matters isn't it? Happy Shooting Craig

| I'm with Craig on this, and the bottom line is you being happy with it... It's a good camera with lots of potential...

| Remember to set your camera to do what you want/need it to do. If you're always taking 12 mp shots, those can be enlarged to poster sized frames (and probably much too big) unless you're zooming in a bunch on your shots. |

| Thanks for the input. I do like it, just wondered if maybe I should have looked at a higher mega pixel camera as I do like to enlarge the photos to about 16"x20" for framing and display, and also for competitions at our local photographic society meetings and also state fair competitions. I always set my camera to film in "large" file which I know uses the highest mp available. I am even thinking of taking pics in raw format. but have been hesitant to start doing so. Thanks again for the opinions.

| Don't buy into the The Megapixel Myth . I've printed 8X10's and gotten magazine covers from 1 meg files. Yes, bigger files, specifically RAW, give you more to work with in the digital darkroom. You did good with your purchase. Cheers Craig

| A friend of mine (who is a wedding photographer) has printed 16x20s from 8mp files that looked fantastic. Megapixels alone are not the true measure of a camera! 12mp is more than enough to get a great-looking 16x20 print, so long as the printer knows what they're doing and uses good equipment, software, and paper. |
