| Which p&s Canon would you get? I am looking for a new camera for our upcoming trip. I know I want a point and shoot canon, something relatively easy to use. I have been looking at the Poweshot SD 1200 IS and the Powershot SX110 IS. Any opinions on either?

| Comparing them side-by-side, I'd take the SX110IS. It allows more control, if you want it, has more features available, a larger view screen and takes AA batteries which can be found anywhere. The other camera has a "specific and exclusive" battery, meaning you have to get more than one, and make sure they are used so they don't develop memories or get drained from not being used.

| I am leaning toward the SX110 IS but I have read that there is a wait time for the flash to recharge. I am wondering if that would be a problem, that I would miss some shots. I also like the feel of that camera.

| I have the SD1100 and love it. Have had it about a year. Takes great pictures. Unlike Bill, I guess, I like having the exclusive battery, as going thru AA batteries could become very costly, unless you get rechargables. I've found battery life to be very good with this one (compared to my 2003 Nikon) and I got probably 2+ days of taking pics (probably over 100 pics a day) without having to recharge!

| As a serious camera junkie I have owned many a point and shoot including about six or seven Canon's. I recently bought the adorable red Canon SD780 IS Digital Elph. I think it is my new favorite! I usually use a Canon Digital SLR which seems huge in comparison, but there are many places where I want a smaller camera than the SLR. This new little red one preforms amazingly well. It is the smallest point and shoot I have owned and takes amazing pictures. It does not use AA batteries but I like it that way. (and I pick up extras on ebay for next to nothing) All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with any Canon on the market now. |

| The SD780 was one I was looking at first and then for some reason I started looking at others. It is very cute and I love red ( me cell phone is red)! Maybe I should go look at that one again. Does it feel too small?

| I was sure it would feel too small, especially since my camera of choice is a big SLR, but it quickly became second nature to use this little guy. I honestly bought it mostly because it is red.. LOL... but it is a high preforming little dynamo. Even the video I took of my twins' graduation is great. It is perfect for Disney if traveling light is important to you. While I love my big camera, lugging it around the parks is too much most days. |
