| Question About P & S Canon I am looking to get a new point and shoot camera. I currently have a Kodak Easy Share v1003 10 mega pixels and I am just fed up with it. My pictures come out grainy and dark. No matter how much I Photoshop the pics, or play with the settings, they look bad! Anyway to my question, after reading a previous post, my decision has come down to 2 Canon p & s that I am interested in. The Canon SX1100IS or the Canon SD1200IS. For those of you who own any of these, or something similar, how is the quality of the pictures - indoors, outdoors and night time shots? Does it take really good pictures? Thanks for all your help!

| I have one of the Canon Powershots and I love it. It's fairly easy to use and I think the pictures come out great (check out my TR - pretty much all the pics there were taken with it). Lenny was able to blow one up to make a 18x24 poster with it because of the setting I have it on. But I've also been one for using Canon pretty much my whole life. Lenny has a Kodak Easy Share and I can't stand the camera (and after getting our Canon, he doesn't like it anymore either). Good luck in your decision

| I've had the SD1100IS (predecessor to the 1200) for a year, and love it. The pictures are great, the battery life is great, and it fits right in my pocket or small purse (no more camera bag)!

| I was just going to post and ask if anyone was using my Canon SD850 IS. For a point and shoot, it's not a bad camera - and I love the video feature. But I'll be honest, it's not that user-friendly and it's easy to 'accidentally' change a setting which may require going through the numerous menus to reset. Image quality is usually good (depending on how well you utilize all the different settings for indoor/outdoor/etc.) I'll have to take a peek at the newer models and see what they've done.

| I'm looking at getting a Canon. I own the Nikon S7c right now & the picture quality is terrible! Which Canon does everyone like?

| For a P&S camera I use the Canon SD900 elph. I bought it for our first trip to Disney in 07 and love it. I had not had a P&S camera I liked and figured I would use it for simple shots and take my DSLR in to the parks for better shots (a canon XT). Turned out I didn't use the XT at all during the trip. The SD900 did a great job. I even shot some video of wishes and illuminations and it turned out ok (nothing spectacular but not too bad).

| are you using your flash almost exclusively on the camera you have now? that could decide whether or not it's too dark - seriously. Flash photos only work on close ups... if you're taking a photo of something further away (say like the castle at WDW... or fireworks

| I have the Canon SX1100IS and I love it. All of my 2008 photos appearing in the photo archive were taken with it.

| Thank you all for your input! Well I decided to go with the Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS. Actually I bought it last month just before I left for my 3 week Texas Trip. I figured that was a great time to test it out and play with it. Well, I have to say that I really like this camera. I am very happy with my new camera! It takes very good pics, love the small size and that it fit fine in my small purse, was pretty easy to use and loved how the battery had a long charge life. I am sooo over Kodak now!
