| Space Shuttle In Amarillo, Texas Since I've been away from here for a couple of months, I'll make up for it with a few shots I took a few weeks ago here in Amarillo  About a month ago, after the Space Shuttle Discovery had landed in California due to bad weather in Florida, it began it's return trip home on the back of a modified Boeing 747. Being the aviation and space geek that I am, I had found out the night before that it was going to be making a stop here in Amarillo along it's path. My wife and I traveled out to the airport where I work, set up a couple of chairs, and watched the shuttle land, refuel, and take off in the span of about 3 hours. NASA had stopped here a couple of years ago, and I did make it out to the airport to see that, but I had nowhere near the camera equipment I do now.
