I was a part of the new Photobucket Beta testing back in the early fall. The site posed some issues for me when I was trying to share pictures in my October TR, so I first wrote up my complaints to Photobucket as they had requested as part of the testing. Then I returned to the old mode to get the trip report done. That move prompted them to send me several surveys where I again voiced my complaints.
Tonight after seeing more folks having problems with photo sizing on Photobucket, I decided to head back and move over to the new format (in 13 days I wouldn't have had a choice anyway). I practiced uploading photos, and it was very fast. I also checked out resizing as it does not upload to a particular size now. I found resizing to be quite simple, though it has to be done for each picture one at a time. I know that is a bit of a bother, especially when I take several thousand pictures a trip. But I don't share all of them on the boards anyway. So my plan right now will be to just resize the ones I'll share in my TRs or other posts.
To easily resize, click on the edit button above each photo. In the next window, click on Resize and then put in the board appropriate size, which in Sharing the Adventure is 640 px X 480 px. Actually, when I put in 640, it automatically filled in the other or one comparable to it.
Some folks mentioned that Photobucket is resorting their pictures once uploaded. It has always done that to me until now. The 10 I uploaded tonight were in the original order. For TRs I've always made a main folder for the trip with sub folders for each day to keep my photos in some degree of order. I'm not certain how it will work if I upload a more normal number for me, like a couple hundred.
I don't mind playing around with the site to find answers. I know many of us just want it to work so we can share our pictures. Hope some of this helps.
Thanks for the update. To be honest, as it's resizing one at a time, I can't be bothered with that, with the number of photos I take. I've found some software that resizes the photos in Windows before you upload them to Photobucket.
I think the new site is better than the first version they rolled out, as I too complained about it and took part in numerous surveys, but I still wish they hadn't messed with something that worked perfectly well for me originally.
What method are you using for copying to a TR? I finally figured out how to use the quick-link, but when I do that it seems to nullify the re-sizing! They do seem to be constantly tweaking and making changes, so that may have changed by now. I need to practice more with the new site before my next TR.
Thanks Cam for the info! I use Photobucket occasionally. I liked when they had the feature to automatically resize all your photos in a large batch when uploading. It did save a lot of time. But I guess, it's back to square one resizing each individual picture, one at a time.

I just used the quick link and the size remained the same. You do have to save it first and I also replaced the original so I got the right size picture link.

I need to put some pix together for a TR but have been lazy about getting started. I used to have a resizing program that I could use before I uploaded to Photobucket. When I got my new computer and installed that program, it would not work with WIN8. Does your program work with WIN8? If so, can you share some info? If not, I will try Cam's hints for the Photobucket process? I never posted the TR from my trip in 2008 but I do have some pix I would like to share. DW keeps pushing me for a disc with all of the pix for the scrapbook. Then there is the trip from last September that I really need to do. Plus we are going back starting March 15 (16 days from now.) I really want to write that one since we will be going for the new Fantasyland and the Epcot flower show (we are spending 2-1/2 days at Epcot) and I have some new lenses for my camera. Hopefully I will have some good pix to share. DW is really good with the scrapbooking but I have to do most of the journaling.
