MAKE: Panasonic Lumix MODEL: DMC-FX35 # of Megapixels or film size: 10.1 MP Optical Zoom: 3.x x Type of recording media: SDHC or SD Normal recording Mode (jpg, tiff, raw, other): JPG What do you like most: Its Super Small. It has a wide angle (for a point & shoot) 25mm. It can record widescreen movies at up to 720p 30fps. It can take pictures in 4:3, 3:2, or 16:9. What do you dislike: The zoom is not as long as I'd like and the movies take up a good amount of space. What would you buy if you bought a new camera now: I just bought this, and I can't think of a better point & shoot. Its been fantastic. Super small, but super powerful.

Make - Fuji Finepix S9000
# of megapixels - 9.1
Optical zoom - 10X
Recording media - XD card or compact flash
Normal recording mode - jpg, can do RAW but i've never used it
What do i like most - the high resolution gives me more options with cropping, nice zoom, i can add lenses, filters or an external flash, the duel media slot allows me to carry tons of memory on the go, lots of manual controls, tilt out lcd screen.
What do i like least - shutter lag, the flash is pretty lame, at nearly 2 pounds, it's heavy to lug around, lcd screen is too small.

Thumbs up

MAKE: Pentax
MODEL: Optio A40
# of Megapixels or film size: 12.0mp
Optical Zoom: 3.0x optical, 17.9x digital
Type of recording media: SD memory card
Normal recording Mode (jpg, tiff, raw, other): JPG
What do you like most: takes very detailed pictures, shutter lag time barely noticeable, focus is good even when moving, lots of options like macro focus. Tons of presets but can also change everything manually
What do you dislike: Drains batteries fast, no viewfinder - the screen can be hard to see sometimes in bright sun.
What would you buy if you bought a new camera now: I love this camera, just bought it a few months ago and would recommend it to anyone who wants a little more control than a basic point and shoot.
