I am in the midst of using it right now. We are getting married at Disney and will spend part of our honeymoon there and then head down to Vero. It has been good. There are a TON of options to choose from, and I like that the money you are given is put on a gift card for you to use later. We are DVC members and will go every year and may not have time to do all of the activities the week of the wedding.

I don't like that you cannot "register" for a hotel outside of the one you have booked. We are staying at Animal Kingdom for the wedding, and that was the reservation number I plugged in to start the registry, so it was the only option that was available. I had to call to get them to add Vero so we could "register" for the nights we are staying there.

I haven't gotten any gifts yet, since my showers aren't until January, but so far so good. I'm just glad I can register for some Disney stuff.

Thanks and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We're not getting married until the summer of 2009 so I've still got a while to figure out if it's going to be right for us.

My SIL is contemplating using it for her May wedding. She's not sure it's worth it, but I said even if just two people utilize it, that's less $ for them to spend at WDW. I think it's a cool option.

We're really hoping we get a few gifts from the site. Even if we got stuff that totaled $100, that's $100 less dollars we'd have to spend. It doesn't cost you anything to register if you're going for your honeymoon, and it takes only ten to fifteen minutes. I am encouraging my hostesses to let my shower guests know how much we REALLY want them to get something off the Disney Honeymoon Registry!

Question

I'd also like to know more about the registry. I've gone to Disney's site, but it doesn't really explain exactly how it works. We just got back from WDW and had the DDP...LOVED it, but the DDP doesn't look like it coincides with the registry.

Do you get gift cards for the items people would purchase, or??? I'm confused lol

You register for items you would like to do. They are broken down in increments and people can buy the items for you in increments. So, let's say I register for a back massage at Saratoga Springs. The back massage is probably going to cost around $200. Disney has broken it down, and it is listed in four increments of $50, so my Mom could get a $50 increments and my aunt get me a $50 increment, and I'm half way to a massage. That way, people think they're actually getting you something.

In reality, when you register, Disney sends you a gift card, which you register online. Any time anyone "buys" you something, that amount is put on your gift card, so you can spend it anyway you want! That way, if you get all of your activities, and you don't have time to do them on that trip, you can save the $$$ for the next trip.

Does that all make sense? If not, feel free to look up my registry. Bride's last name is Alexander, and first name is Geri. It might make more sense that way.

We used the registry on our honeymoon in October/November and our "extra something" was a "Magical Moment" certificate slid under the door saying it was from the Honeymoon registry. While it was something that was extra, and could perhaps be used for a scrapbook, Hubby and I really had no use for it.
