| Grown-up Pirates & Princesses ![]() Okay...it's taken me days to get up the courage to ask this question, so don't laugh at me too hard. Is it worth the extra ticket price for a pair of fun and fantasy-loving, costume-wearing, romantic adults to attend the Pirate and Princess party? Husband and I love the fantasy and the fun of the entire notion of the P&PP, but I am just a tad concerned about the event being entirely kid-geared. Can anyone offer a bit of experienced wisdom? Is it an event that would be fun for us, if we go in costume with the expectation of being big kids, or will we simply be viewed as "stealing" fun from the kids for whom the event is intended? Several of the dates are near our birthdays, and, of course, one falls on Feb 14. Think it's valid as a silly Valentine? |

| I say by all means go! No one will think you are odd for going and dressing up, and you certainly won't be stealing any fun from the kids. This event is really geared toward everyone. I think that you'll have a great time. IMHO, the event was well worth the money. You'll be able to walk on to most rides, you'll get to see some fabulous fireworks and a special parade. If you are willing to get into character, things will be that much more fun. Go, go, go!

| This event is definitely worth it! We went on a whim last February and if I would have known how much fun it would be I would have dressed up myself. There were plenty of adults dressed up (and I certainly will be next time!). The entire night was amazing...from the fantastic fireworks to the parade (and I'm not a parade person) it was so worth the extra cost. We even participated in the "treasure hunt" around the park and the youngest person in our group was 27.

| DBF and I both dressed up when we went in March. We're 25. I would say that there were equal amounts of kids and adults dressed up at the P&PP. In fact, I was really surprised by the amount of people who WEREN'T dressed up. However, this was in the early days of P&P, and I've heard that the subsequent parties have had greater numbers of participants, with everyone "getting" that they should dress up. That having been said, we also noticed that Cast Members really loved it that we dressed up. Because we were adults, and because it was so out of the ordinary, we got plenty of attention from CM's. DBF's pirate shirt was "puffy" (a la Jerry Seinfeld), and sooo many CM's commented on his "puffy shirt!" In fact, Captain Jack Sparrow spent a lot of time making fun of it when DBF got his autograph and pic. So my vote is ABSOLUTELY dress up! Besides the dress-up aspect, the fireworks and parade alone are absolutely worth the price of the ticket.

| That's good to know. As the P&PP is the only night MK is open late when my DD (22) & I go, I got us tickets not really knowing if we would enjoy it, both of us being adults!! But when those tickets arrived in the mail today, I got pretty excited!! Sue

| Tons of adults dress up. As mentioned, more have been getting into the act as time goes on. I always dress up. Even before I was a CM, but the parties are very popular with CMs who like to go as guests and dress up (as pirates and princesses, not as guests). So.. do it. It's not silly or out of the ordinary in the least, I promise

| A friend of mine (mid-to-late-20s) went with his girlfriend. They both dressed as pirates. I excitedly asked him how it was (wishing I could've gone!) and he said it was great and they really enjoyed it. Have a blast!!

| I think the beauty of Disney is that you'll get more joy out of the vacation when you put more joy into it!! The special parties really add to that joy -- especially if you go ALL IN and get dressed up, take part in the festivities and throw yourself into the spirit of the event. I haven't been lucky enough to go to the P&PP yet (although I'm hoping to sneak in a weekend in Feb/March), but I've done the Halloween and Christmas ones and they were delightful, especially as we were dressed up and really got into enjoying ourselves. I think you'll have a blast! ![]() Eileen

| My DH and I went to the first ever P and P party last January and had a fantastic time. Seeing that I'm 57 and Kim is 65, I would definitely say that this party is not just for children. I had such a good time there (the fireworks in particular are absolutely amazing) that my grown-up son (33) and myself are going to the P and P party this March and this time, I'm dressing up. Joy

| My dh and I went last Jan w/the three boys and had so much fun that him and I went back solo when we were in FL on business last March. It is a fab time and tons of adults dress up. If you can't let your inner child go at WDW where can you? |

| Well, it might be cheesy but my hubby and I will be doing just that on Valentine's Day! I'll be 32 in 3 days and hubby is 30, so we were admittedly worried about being the oldest ones there... looks like we're not going to be alone though! |
