My DH and I are going to WDW in May for our Anniversary and belated honeymoon. Does anyone have suggestions on romantic things to do or places to go besides the obvious that everyone does? Is there someplace you found to watch fireworks or have dinner that was relatively uncrowded or not full of kids? I plan on ordering a small cake that was like our wedding cake but was told that no store had a small castle to put on the top of the cake. Has anyone seen one somewhere? so sorry, lots of questions.

Have you looked into Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian for dining? It's adults only. Pricey, but if it's your belated honeymoon, it's fitting

You could watch the MK fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian.

DH and I spent our anniversary in WDW last May. We had a wonderful dinner at Concourse Steakhouse and set sail from the Contemporary on a deluxe wishes fireworks cruise. It is a bit pricey but very much worth it. We had our audio soundtrack and snacks all included.

Another idea is getting a couples massage at the Grand Floridian Spa and having a nice dinner at the Grand Floridian. Any restaurant there is great!

As for the cake topper, you can contact Disney to see if they would be able to accomodate you.

For my dh's 40th birthday, I reserved a horse and buggy ride at port orleans, riverside.
It was very romantic! We had a drink at the bar and then headed outside for a ride. It was quiet and very nice. When he saw the the horse and carriage, he said "wish we would have thought of that!" When he asked if they had any availability, they said they were booked for the night and were waiting their next reservation, which ofcourse was us!

One year for our anniversary, I booked the Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's as a surprise for my husband. Although expensive, it was worth every penny as it's truly a once in a lifetime kind of dining experience. I also heartily second the recommendation of a horsedrawn carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside. It was very romantic and you can even arrange to have a bottle of champagne to enjoy during the ride.

I know other people have written about this too, but another option for a carriage ride is to go over to Celebration. Their shops and quintesential community is a perfect place to enjoy an evening ride. They reservation and general question number is 407-414-1981. Also, watch Illuminations at EPCOT from the Morocco area and then take your time walking out of the World Showcase. Many people rush out and once the fireworks are done this part of the park really clears out...it's very nice just to take your time walking around the showcase virtually alone! Also, my hubby and I are going in Jan. 08 and we are making a "wish list" of things we would like to do that we haven't done before...it's kind of romantic to plan some new things to do...and it makes the wait a little shorter!

Fort Wilderness also offers Carriage Rides. Champagne during the fireworks at Cali Grill is great! Get a "diver sign" and personalized menus at the Coral Reef. Order breakfast in bed.

THANKS so much for all the great tips. I can't wait until May. Last May we had snow here in Colorado so am looking forward to warmer weather this year for our anniversary.

I would look into dining at Victoria and Albert's and possibly the California Grill. The couples' massage is also a great idea - and what about seeing if you can get an Illuminations or Wishes cruise? That's a great way for the two of you to watch the fireworks. Another thing we did this holiday that we loved was to hire Breathless II (complete with driver) from the Yacht Club Marina for half an hour - it's a beautiful vessel and a very romantic thing to do.

Did you call the Grand floridian bakery to see if they could recreate your cake? I know they mini castles they use on their mini fairytale cakes so maybe this could work. The thing is you have to be eating somewhere at the Gf to have it delivered, stay at the Gf or pick it up yourself. I would sugest having dinner (Narcoosee's is very romantic, as well as Citricos and Victoria and alberts if those are out of your budget I have heard GF cafe is nice as well although I have never tried it personally) then they can deliver your table!

Agreeing with Mary if budget permits, def. Victoria and Alberts, Citricos or even Narcooses. But I know I'd like to do something romantic with my husband when we go in May. But we are eating good the entire time, and don't want to go really outrageous. We are going to have dinner at Ohana's (that is where we had our rehearsal dinner- and I was pretty sick and didn't eat anything but the scalloped potatoes) So I have that scheduled before the fireworks so we can go down on the beach and find a hammock and watch Wishes.

My sisters actually took me on a Wishes! Cruise as a present for my wedding, just me and all my girls- and it was actually pretty affordable too. It was like $250- had snacks it was about 2 hours I wanna say, you saw the water pageant and then the fireworks. You might want to look into that, I'm sure that you can get food served on them. Just an idea.

Also if money is no limitation, you might want to check into having private dining done. I know some people have ran into issues at the Grand Floridian, but another great spot is somewhere in the World Showcase at Epcot. You can have your own private little dessert party for the two of you. I have some friends that have done it at the UK pavilion somewhere.

We went for our anniversary a few years ago. We had dinner at the castle and when I made the ADR I mentioned that it would be our anniversary. A beautiful pair of champagne flutes was waiting for us when we were seated--very cool! Also, I mentioned it when checking into the WL and later that afternoon a bottle of champagne was delivered, compliments of the staff!
