| Anniversary Trip Suggestions I would deeply appreciate hearing some opinions and suggestions about booking a room at the Wilderness Lodge in September for a special anniversary celebration: My DH is in his final year of his doctorate of pharmacy, and he will be interning 5 hours from home for the entire month of our anniversary (September). Probably the only time we will see each other that month will be a 1-2 night stay at Disney (probably the 12-14). I want that stay to be special, since it's both our anniversary and our only time together. I've pretty much decided on the WL, and a quiet, easy-going vacation, but here's the dilemma. We're Florida premium annual passholders, so I know that there will be room disounts offered closer to vacation time. I also have a Disney Visa - again discount potential. BUT I don't want a view of a parking lot or service area - I want to overlook the courtyard or the lake, and I'm afraid that I can't get that with a discounted room. What do y'all think? Book the room soon to ensure a good view with a King bed or even try for a honeymoon suite, or wait and try for one of the discounted rates? Opinions? Experiences?

| I would book what room you want and can afford (if that is an issue) and then try to apply what ever discount comes out. When the discounts do come out they will be able to tell you what views the have available. Be sure to mention your anniversary and your requests for location both when you make the reservation and when you check in. When I wanted a discount at WL the rooms that went the fastest were the standard and woods view rooms. In fact they were completely out of discounted standard view and we had to upgrade to woods view. Don't know if that is the norm or just how it happened with us, but here's to hope! Have a great anniversary and best wishes on getting the perfect room!

| well make a big deal about this being your anniversary - we did that with my parents in June and we got a lake view at CSR and they bent over backwards to make their stay awesome...

| I'd book what you can now, and definately mention it's your anniversary! With the Disney Visa, you could always have the discount applied to your reservation should it be available, or have the ressie switched if need be. And keep your fingers crossed for an AP discount for Sept. Best of luck! And have a great time planning this wonderful vacation! Kudo's to your DH!

| I agree, book what you want now and stalk those AP alerts until Sept shows up. I got into the habit of calling nearly everyday for our March 2007 trip until the rates were released. And I agree too that you should make a big deal out of both the anniv. and the doctorate. You never know what Disney Magic will happen when you mention this to them. Make sure you comment that this will be the only time you see each other during that month. I have a feeling that you will be surprised! Congrats to your DH early!
