Jennifer & Bill - November 5, 2007 - Our Disney Fairytale Wedding!

I met Billy 8 years ago. When I was 17 and he was 26. We worked at a local steak house, he was a server, and I a hostess at that time. He hit on me all the time, and I honestly thought he was an old man. lol. Well we did grow close during that time, and had a pretty great friendship. Then it happened. I left. I started my college program in the house of the mouse on September 12, 2001.

Billy and I stayed in touch throughout the program, but it started to fade towards the end. But something much bigger grew because of this college program. Now... growing up I was very fortunate that I had parents that tried to get us to Disney at leas once every 2-3 years. It was a very happy place for us. Well, my family has always LOVED Disney. (although Dad never admitted it) But.... it wasn't until I completed my college program did Disney really become an OBSESSION in my family. My mom visited me once while I was down there and the two of us had a blast.

When I came home it was about 8 months later and I was in a very very very bad car accident that almost took my life. At that time my mother was diagnosed with Lymes Disease and had to start treatments through an IV. She wasn't feeling good at all. The one thing that kinda got our spirits up to get through all of this was the idea my Dad gave her one day before Christmas (my accident was in Oct, I had my face broken in over 30 some places, jaw wired shut for 2 months, etc.) Anyway he suggested in May - over Mother's Day that the GIRLS just get away at Disney. That bonding moment, was the start of the bi and semi annual trips to disney from that point on.

That May when I got back I also started to work again and went back to the steakhouse where I met Billy. He was still there. Needless to say right off the bat he said how happy he was to see me, he had thought I had died, etc. Which then of course was followed by "take you tooth out take your tooth out" (I had a false tooth in the front at that time, while waiting to have my implants put in) Always being the jokester... during a really tough time, he was there for me. But something was different this time around.

"There was something there that wasn't there before" quoteing a song from my fav. Disney movie- Beauty and the Beast.

There was a chemistry and a connection that was never there. Then from that moment, we went on our first date on July 29, 2003. We purchased our first home on June 28, 2005. He proposed to me on May 27, 2006. On that amazing day, surrounded by our family at dinner, my dad said those amazing words that once he said them he realized he could never take it back. "Kiddo - if you guys wanted to get married in Disney we can see what we can do!"

Well I'll tell you what, coming from me- looking back on that day and how proud and happy they were, how proud and exhilerated Billy and I were- we would NOT have changed a thing.

It is something that WE NEVER EVER EVER DREAMED would have happened to us those 8 years ago, let alone in THE MOST AMAZING PLACE ON EARTH!!!! IT WAS A BLESSING, IT WAS A DREAM!!!!

I am getting tears just writing this thinking that it is all over. But I am also so very excited to take you on our journey!

Again you will have to bear with me because on another forum, my trip report is about 16 pages long. So I'll have to condense everything to get it on here for you all.

Wednesday, October 31st

So I worked about a half day or so. Left at noon. Fibbing my way through the last week- my boss was under the impression we left that night. Yeah- not so much.

So after I left, I ran a few errands, stopped at the hospital to see Grandmom before we left. I was very glad I did. Papa G (Bill's dad) and his brother, Uncle Mike had just left the hospital when I got there. I got to Grandmom's room and SHE WASN'T THERE!!! Me thinking the worst and that this 92 year old is dead or something, frantically searched around for a nurse.

Finally I find one. Now let me just preface in saying this, not that I am against Virtua Hospital because I'm not... but I really do not care for them, and have bad feelings everytime I walk in one. Doesn't matter which one, but I do. Soooo she is in the West Berlin one. Sooooo back to what I was saying, frantically searching for nurse, she was a bit rude- but informed me that Grandmom was down getting tests done. After about 15 minutes of trying to convince her that I NEED to see her now because we are flying to Disney to get married- she unwillingly, very grumpily takes me down to where grandmom is.

I'm glad I made her do that, because grandmom had just started whatever test it was, and it was going to take an hour. The nurses down there were sooooo nice and said that if she promised to lay still I can sit in there and talk to her. I'm glad i did because the 45 min. I was in there with her went by like 20.

So she gets done I take her back to the room with the nurse, all the while everytime we stops she says "This is Jennifer- she's going to marry my grandson on Monday in Disney and I CAN'T GO because I'm here- you have to fix me!" I mean she said it to EVERYONE.

So I spent some more time with her back at the room and gave her some gifts. To which her old stubborn self had to of course tell me that I'm TOO sentimental in giving her that hankie- that I'm very emotional. lol. Whatever. I think she liked it though. She's such a scutch. lol.

So I leave there and head home for some trick or treaters and spend time with Lexi, our golden retreiver.

Thursday, November 1

So the alarm goes off and I know I got to get to the bank and to my friend Jess's Aunt Tina's salon by 11/11:30. So I head out.

I get lost for like 20 min. but finally find her new salon, which was very cute. While there she did a cut and color for me, I got to see one of Billy's very good friend's wife. They weren't going to be able to make it to the wedding, so I enjoyed talking with her and what not.

While there I tell her how I haven't been able to find a shrug to go with my rd dress. So she says if I get done and have time we'd run over to the Deptford Mall and do some retail therapy.

Also while there I talk to Jess, who was going to surprise visit me but had to call me to tell me that she was sick, (she could barely talk) and didn't want to infect me for my big day, I talked to her for a little bit, then told her I'd call her later after my hair was done. She told me MAKE SURE if YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE to speak up and say so.

Funny she said that cause once we washed out the dye- my colors where a bit lighter than I'd like for the wedding. Perfect for every day but not so comfortable about it for the wedding. So she put more toner or whatever it is back on and we darkened it up.

Then Mary Ann (Billy's friend's wife) and I went to the mall. She tells me I'll def. find a shrug in Express. After much protest because I really believed Express was only for tall skinny model types- I gave in and we went. I found EXACTLY what i was looking for PLUS a cute shirt. SCORE.

So I leave there and then call Billy tell him I'm on my way home. Then once I get home and am pretty settled, I talk to my friend Jess again and let her know what was up.

It's about 4:30 or so and Papa G shows up to say good bye and says Mama G was on her way. I didn't get off the phone with my friend Jess because quite frankly- I don't need to talk to him. About 10 minutes later... Billy screams at me "GET OFF THE PHONE NOW!" I'm like "Ewww, wtf??" Tell Jess I gotta go and hang up. I walk into my kitchen to see none other than

A LIMO!!!! FOR US!!!!

Mama G (Billy's Mom) is standing out front because she directed it to our house, and then I see Sean (Billy's Brother) pulling up in their SUV to take pictures of our special moment!!

November 1st - Continued

So we get to the airport, and as always for us, everything runs very smoothly. I get to where we are going to enter the security check point and realize CRAP- I don't have my quart size bag with all the must have toiletries. Billy grabbed my tote from upstairs for me, and it was up there so I'd remember ot put them in, not thinking I completely forgot them. Oh well no biggie it wasn't an issue - it was more an annoyance.

Then we get past security really fast, and go to the gate that the baggage guy when we checked in told us to. The one that was on our ticket. So I quick call Jess back and tell her why I had to go. I then call my fl self (tiff) and tell her about everything and how excited I was and what not. While on the phone with her at our gate- I finally tell Billy. Something isn't right here. Why are there no people at this gate. He says he's going to take a walk and check it out. He does and realizes- we went to the wrong gate.

So we switch, get there it's mobbed. But we board in like 10 minutes from arriving at that gate.

We land, it was a pretty uneventful flight. Now Billy and I have a system, I wait for bags and he goes to rental desk. Sooooo thank god we have this system in place, he got there and was #2 in line. About 30 secs. after he gets in line there was like 20 people behind him. So we get in and out and on our way.

We pick up our Highlander and off to The World we go while it is raining out.

November 1st - Continued- We get to All Star Sports

Let me preface that we were staying in a one bedroom villa at The Boardwalk- Concierge Access from November 4 - November 7th. We didn't have all the money in the world to stay there the whole time (wish we did) Esp. after what we went through so, we decided that November 1st- November 3rd we would stay at All Star Sports.

We pull into All Star Sports and see A Groomsmen- Damon, his son the ring bearer Logan, his wife Carla and his daughter Arianna. Then another Groomsman and his girlfriend- Pete and Colleen. So we get checked in, and we have THE WEIRDEST GIRL EVER. But ehhh I was tired and just wanted to be done with her and she was just soooo strange. We had to do some finageling to get those two couples near us because they booked AAA rates. But it worked out- but the staff was still rude and not very Disneyesque. Little did I realize this would be the first of some pretty bad encounters there.

UP NEXT: MARRIAGE LICENSE, WELCOME BAG DEBACLE and WHY WE WILL NEVER STAY VALUE AGAIN!!!

Friday, November 2, 2007 - Part One - Courthouse.

So we wake up at around 8 I think. I got a shower and dressed and ready to start the day. Excited that we would be going to get our marriage license, meeting up with Tiffani and Harlan, and going to Shula's and Jellyrolls that night.

Dressed and ready to start the day

So we started on our journey to the courthouse, all the while thinking we are not following the directions properly. I put a call out to my friend that lives in Orlando- Shira, who is talking me through some things, but then I get off the phone with her. Then talk briefly to my very good friend Tiffani. I sent down ALLLLLLL of my welcome bag stuff to her and she put everything together. She lives near Miami so she could truck them all up with her when she drove up. Then my bridesmaid Sandy is calling wanting to know the schedule (read your e-mails much- oh that's right you can yell at me for sending it to both your work and home e-mails but not read them) but I was actually happy to talk to her. Then we get to the courthouse. No one else was there.

Outside the courthouse.

Friday, November 2, 2007 - Part Two- Meeting my Fairy Bag Mother & Getting Welcome Bags!

After this, we decide to go to Publix to get a few things. Snackies, water, etc. While passing a Bank of America, and talking to Shira again on the phone asking if there are any Commerces around locally. She explains how she can refer us and we both get money for Bank of America. Later Billy decided that would be too much of a hassle and just gave all the checks to my dad.

So we then talk to Tiff and Harlan, and let them know we are on our way to DTD. They had already stopped by Pop and checked in I think? I'm not positive. Then they also dropped off the Welcome Bags for Port Orleans for us.

We get there, end up parking like 4 parking spaces away from them but across the way. I call her she says they are by the WOD. So we go up and of course hugs and squeals (by Tiff and Me mainly) that I finally get to spend some time with my fl. self. This girl is truly a version of myself that lives in FL. The boys hit it off within 2 secs. and its on our way to Earl of Sandwhich because we were sooooo hungry. Outside we ran into my family and they got to meet the whole gang. I didn't even know they would be there.

I think Billy had the Scudetto (or something( I had the Full Montagu or something like that, Tiff had Cannonballs and I forget what Harlan had. While there, they snapped some pics:

It was very yummy and I wish there was an Earl of Sandwich around here.

Then we went to Art of Disney store. Browsed around. Spent some time near the scrapbooking things:

I found a Birthday Book for my flowergirl, held onto it while we went through the part of the store that actually had the Art. We decided we would go to the Christmas Store, leave that exit. I got like five steps and realized. OMG I have to buy this book. So embarassed I ran back in and paid for it.

On to the Christmas store, we found lots of cool goodies, it was very exciting. Didn't buy anything though.

So we hung out with them for a little while longer. Then went through the process of getting the wonderfully organized boxes of welcome bags from her car to my truck - I dont know how the heck they drove with them in a car. Her car no less. (Which BTW Billy said you have a "sick" car) So anwyay we did the exchange, said our good byes and off we went to deliver.

So we go to the Westgate Lakes that was kinda over by Universal, then we go to the Marriot to see Bill's family and drop off the bags they were responsible for.

Friday, November 2, 2007 - Part Three- All Star Nightmare and Shula's

Then we head back to All Star - thinking we'd drop off Boardwalk's bags once we go to see my parents and go to dinner.

Welllllllllllllllllll All Star was a nightmare. I will actually copy and paste the portion of the letter that DFTW is getting with our complaints, we did put that in there just because. We know it is not their area, but the needed to know of the rude encounter we had. Let's just say if you ever get Lee at All Star Sports- run in the opposite direction. He was extremely rude, well not just him all of them. There came a point in time where I wish I had my ears on so I could throw them at him (like Jill)

So with that being said- this is what we included in the letter.

Quote:
Resort Cast Members Behavior- I understand that this is not your area. However we wanted to let you know just how disappointed we were in the behavior of several cast members at All Star Sports Resort. One Cast Member in particular, Lee. We understand it is not their job to hand out welcome bags or anything for that matter for a guest. We understand that it is not their responsibility. But we never expected him to treat the bride the way that he did. His whole demeanor was not very Disney-like. With the Bride having done a College Program, she is very well versed on how the behavior of a cast member should be. This cast member did not exude much of Disney’s morals, values and traditions. He was extremely rude to her after she had gone to concierge to ask them about if they would hand out bags to guest as they checked in. They told her to go to the front desk. Now please keep in mind, the bride had already gone to Port Orleans Riverside as well as The Boardwalk Inn and asked them. They were more than happy to help, and were extremely grateful for her organization of these said items, as she provided them with not only a spreadsheet for them that had the guests name, the name the reservation was under, the dates the reservation was for, the confirmation codes for every single reservation. This was provided to them in their hand, as well as on the box that contained each of the bags, with the names highlighted for who they belonged to in that box. Also on each bag was a tag, that had a label with the same information. It took them a matter of 10-15 minutes to note all the reservations and they were more than happy to help.[
So anyway, fuming I get back in the car with Billy and we drive around to where our room is, bitching the entire way. I get into the room and I see this lovely surprise from someone.

JILL!!! Was she in my brain?? Did she know I was thinking of her just moments earlier, wishing to follow in her footsteps and fling ears at someone??? A friend of mine- whose wedding I went to when we went down for our planning session. She actually ended up firing her ears at a cast member at Ohana's because of some really bad experience that she had. When I was going through all of that crap with our cast member I was thinking, omg if I had the balls to throw this at him. I know damn well from being a cast member - this is not how they should be treating a guest. But alas- I remained calm.

It was filled with all kinds of goodies and snackies, it was very yummy too and much appreciated as we took most of it to Jamaica and when we got tired of the crappy food at our resort, I had that! SHE certainly saved me!!!

So then by that time it is getting pretty late, and we shower and get ready to go to Shula's with my parents.

Here's me quick on the way:

And us before dinner:

No I didn't wear the ears.

Dinner was amazing. SOOOOOOO soooooo good.
Yummy yummy yummy. We all had filet I think. We ordered two twice baked potatoes for the table, asparagas, and their mac & cheese that had crab in it. That alone was to die for. This was seriously like my last meal before hmmmm Jamaica. lol. Since I ended up getting sick, I really didn't eat. But I must say as a last meal- OMG Shula's was amazing. We also had some kind of apple pie ish type thing for dessert and the choco. lava cake. Sorry no food porn- I felt completely out of place taking pics in there of the food. As well as in my jeans. I don't know who I talked to before I went, but they had said I'd be okay in jeans and a nice shirt. Well I would NEVER go back there in jeans. I would have worn a dress or a skirt. I felt like a scruff.

Up Next: I'm so glad I can finally get in this place, I love it here- JELLYROLLS!!!

Friday, November 2, 2007- Part Five- Back to ASS (very proper acronym now)

Then we got back to the room and had another extra special surprise waiting for us from Olivia (BM) and her dad and his girlfriend. It's so very cute and I actually use it a lot now for work:

After getting that I did then go through some of our stuff and see what we could give to one of our gm and his family (rb) that weren't too far from us. After I bagged it up, we said we'd stop by tomorrow and drop them off for them. So we went to bed!
