I will be at Disney 09/04-07/2008 and I still have two reservations to make 30 days out--the GF Photo Session and to switch our anniversary dinner to the Bistro de Paris. I asked the woman on the phone at WDW DINE to tell me when my 30 day call could be made and she said it had to be made 30 days before the day I would be eating there. I specifically asked if that was not supposed to be 30 days from my check-in date and was told no it was definitely 30 days before the date of the reservation at the Bistro. I asked her for the exact date to call and first she said 08/04/08 and then said "no that would be 30 days from your check-in, so you should call on 08/05". First of all, 08/04 is not 30 days from check-in unless they are really saying to call at a month vs calling at 30 days, so that is the first confusion.

I ran the PS Calculator for when my call date should be and got an odd result. The first time I ran the PS Report, it gave me the date of 03/08/2008 to make all my regular dining reservations for the entire trip (180 days from check-in) and I think it said Bistro de Paris could be booked on 08/05/2008. When I count on a calendar using our check-in date as Day 1 and counting backward, I get 08/06/2008 as my 30 day mark. The PS Report would not print and eventually locked up my IE, so I shut it down, went back and had put everything back in and now it tells me that each of my dining reservations have to be made based on the day of the reservation--I get the regular calls should have been made 03/08--03/11 now for regular dining. It has my Bistro reservation to be called on 08/06/2008.

Anyone know exactly how to figure this?? And if they are going to do this date thing, shouldn't they all be telling us the same thing? Not some telling to you call based on check-in date, and some telling you to call based on reservation date and some telling you to just call one month prior to the same date you want a ressie for?

Also with regard to the photo shoot, do we know if that is 30 days from the shoot date or 30 days from check-in date??

It can be confusing, I agree! And the PS Calculator and Report are great tools, but when they lock up, it's best to completely exit out as it can be glitchy.

ADR's for specialty restaurants like Bistro de Paris can be made 30 days from the day you'd like to dine there. Your check-in date (with the 10+day advantage for reservations) will not help you in this case.

If you want to dine on 9/4, then you'd call on 8/5 (9/5 would be 8/6; 9/6 would be 8/7 and 9/7 would be 8/8).

The Grand Floridian photo shoot would work the same way - 30 days out from the day you'd like, call for a reservation. Good luck getting what you'd like - sounds like a wonderful anniversary!

Thanks. Was a crazy morning on the phone with CMs this morning. Very nice ppl but not a one I spoke to knew anything....and I spoke to 5! Oh well the rest of the day went great.

I am going to be in WDW for my honeymoon Aug 30 tov Sept 9 and have already made adr for bistro de Paris. I will say go ahead and make your ADR to ensure you get the date and time you want. With the free dining plan many places are full. I am still trying to mak ADR fot the Spirit of Aloha dinner show . I am prayin g someone cancel and I can get it otherwise I have to reserve it and pay for it upfront and out of pocket.

I tried to make the ADR but they would not take it down until 30 days before the reservation date--or so they told me. I went ahead and booked Les Chefs de France (which is the downstairs portion of the building), but they wouldn't let me reserve upstairs until August.
