When to give anniversary gift??

Hey all,

We will be leaving in a little more than a week for our 10th anniversary trip to WDW, and I can't decide when to give my wife her present. Part of me wants to give it to her when we get there, so she can enjoy it for the entire week, while another part of me wants to wait until our actual anniversary, so I can't decide. Give it to her for our first night out, so she can enjoy it the entire week of our stay, or wait until our anniversary, which is the last night?

Oh, and for those that need to know to help make the decision ;P I'm going to be getting her a simple, but sparkly necklace...something that can be casual-ish, but also look quite nice all dressed up and fancy.

EDIT - forgot to mention that we're doing a table service almost every day (since we're without kids so can actually enjoy it) so something sparkly and nice would definitely come in handy more than once on the trip. First night we're probably doing food and wine, but then Boma, California Grill, Rose and Crown, Narcoosse's to name a few....

What's your feeling?

If you have an ADR at a "nice" reastuarant give it to her then! Or at dinner your fist night or before wishes or Illuminationts? Would you like to give my DH a few pointers! LOL

first nice meal sounds like a plan to me. arrange for a rose (or her favorite flower) and a card on the actual day.

A different take would be half way through the trip during fireworks! Just imagine the surprise and giddieness on her face with fireworks going off at that same time! It could be like a commercial!! The romantic look, the embrace, the moment! OK, getting way too wrapped up in the idea....but just a thought!

i'm just concerned that sparkly necklace could get dropped in the dark during fireworks or i would love that idea.

How about getting a stuffed Mickey (or her favorite character) and putting the sparkly on him, and prop him up on the pillow while she's in the shower?

Hmmm... a lot of good tips ladies, and I like that no one said wait until our actual anniversary...I don't think I could wait that long. ended up walking into her work to propose rather than waiting till Dinner because I was too excited...I don't think I could wait all week.

do the photographers work in the resturants? you could maybe get one of them to be there for a great picture. you might look for a disney special box for the sparkly. maybe a crystal slipper or coach. there are just so many options there.

I agree with all of my fellow pp's...give it early. Another good idea so as to keep with celebrating each day is to give her the necklace early on and each of the other days give her a card or something small. Then on the actual night of your anniversary do something special. Like wine in the room or a letter to her reminicsing of the day you were married...etc... you know the gushy stuff lol.
