| Honeymoon destination My fiancee and I are tentatively planning our wedding and honeymoon for fall of 2010. We decided ages ago that the perfect honeymoon would be at Disney, but we're torn about resorts. Of course, we still have a long time to weigh the pros and cons, but why not start dreaming early? Planning the honeymoon is certainly more fun (and less stressful!) than planning the wedding. We plan to stay for ~10 days, and since budget is kind of limited, but we were thinking about a moderate resort. Now, I kind of had my heart set on the Polynesian, but the Caribbean Beach Resort seems like a better option for us. My question is this: would it be possible/practical to schedule part of the stay in one resort (e.g., two nights in the Poly) and the rest in another (the rest of the time in CBR)? What other suggestions do you lovely folks have about where to stay and what to do? We're both huge Disney fans and well-acquainted with the parks, but any ideas you may have that we might not have thought of would be muchly appreciated.

| Congratulations. My husband and I honeymooned at WDW in 1999 and so I may be biased when I say it's the perfect destination. As for resorts, I think you've got some great ideas. I don't think it's an unusual idea at all to think about spending a couple of nights at the Poly and then switch over to a moderate. A 'split stay' is becomming more and more popular of a way to cut down on expenses while still getting to try out some of the deluxe resorts. Disney will make it easy on you and transport your luggage from one resort to the other. The only thing that complicates making a 'split stay' is if you choose to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. We splurged on our honeymoon and stayed at the Boardwalk Inn, so there wasn't a lot of spending money left over for fancy, romantic dinners or excursions. So, my only advise is that it's never too early to start planning or start saving up! Happy Planning!

| I think if you're staying for ~10 days a split stay will be a great idea. We're trying one this summer for the first time (for our honeymoon in fact). One thing I have heard though is that if you're staying at more than one level of resort you should always move upwards - for example, start your stay at CBR and then end it at the Polynesian.

| Congratualations! You absolutely can do a split stay - many people do! CBR is a beautiful resort and the rooms are the largest out of all the moderate resorts. I don't know if you are aware, but Disney also has a great Honeymoon Registry. Wedding Guests can give gifts toward your honeymoon

| Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon. You've come to the right place to get your questions answered. People do split stays all the time at Disney and post their experiences here. As for things to do, I highly recommend Cirque De Soilel -- DW and I celebrated our 10 anniversay at WDW and this was part of our day, followed by dinner at Manginos at Shades of Green. I had never seen a Cirque show before, but DW had seen them in Las Vegas. What an experience, not to be missed. I've posted several times about this, but will do it again. There is a hidden gem out there in the Turf Club Grill at Saratoga Springs. Its a quick boat ride from DTD and the food, service, and beverages are great. Here is another suggestion. Schedule a dinner at Kona Cafe, enjoy it, and then go out to the beach to watch the Electric Water Parade, followed shortly by the fireworks from the MK. This is another of our traditions. These are only a few, others will have probably better ideas.

| Have fun planning your honeymoon! We usually go for trips 8 days or longer, and most times, we do 2 resorts per trip! It's like having two separate vacations in one!! ![]()

| We honeymooned in Disney in 1999 as well and we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. It's perfectly possible to stay in two - or more - resorts. Like Marnie, we usually stay for more than eight days, so we often do swap resorts during our stay.

| Congrats and enjoy the planning of your honeymoon trip! It's never too early to start planning. We've done a split stay twice and if you are going for the 10 days, it's definately doable and can add a nice change during the vacation. The move resorts midway through is not that big of a deal, Disney will help you with that. Many people have suggested that you do the moderate first and then end the trip at the deluxe so you don't feel let down moving "down." I've done it in reverse and since it was in the plans, I never really got that feeling. I was just happy to be there and to enjoy the couple days we had at the deluxe. Depending on when you go, a 2-3 night stay at the deluxe should be cheaper during the week days rather than the weekend nights. There are lots of fun and romantic things to do and enjoy at WDW. The possibilities are endless. From dinners to snuggling on the beach at the resort, etc you can enjoy each other's company while experiencing the magic. My SIL got married at WDW this last year and she did the Honeymoon registry, definately worth it!! They received a couple hundred $$ on their card and splurged on some more expensive meals they weren't planning on otherwise due to money being short. Every little bit helps! Happy planning!!

| I am heading to Disney this fall (September) for my very own Disneymoon and I assure you, it is waaaay more fun and waaaaay less stressful than plannign the wedding! I don't know how set your heart is on 10 days at WDW but we decided to change it up a bit. We are doing 5 nights at the Wilderness Lodge (great place for ROMANCE!) with 3 day park hoppers so we can do some of those extras we never get around to when we visit: cirque, night cruise, ressies at restaurants, etc. After that it's off to a one week Western Carribean cruise on the Disney Magic! Not sure what your budget is, but for the two of us for the entire trip at this time period it is running just shy of $5k. Feel free to PM me to talk wedding/ honeymoon plans, it would be nice to swap stories with another "Disney" Bride-to-be! Holly |

| September is the perfect timing for honeymoons. It's value season at all the resorts. It's slightly cooler weather with less rain, although still with the potential of a hurricane. I would suggest going during the time of the MNSSHP dates. It's a separate ticket price, but a neat experience and almost no crowd at MK. Switching resorts is very easy. Just take your luggage to bell services and tell them where you will be staying next. They'll deliver it to your new resort leaving you free to check in at your leisure and enjoy the parks. Bear in mind that your luggage will not be available at your new resort until later in the day. You'll have to pick it up yourself from bell services at the resort or call them and arrange for delivery to your room. Utilizing the Dining Plans is not all that difficult either. They are tied to each room reservation. So you'll have to check in at resort #2 before your credits will be active on the second part of your trip. So if you are out of credits when you check out of resort #1, you'll have to go check in at resort #2 before trying to use your new credits. Don't worry, it's a lot less stressful than it sounds. The CM's do their best to make it smooth as well. Congratulations! And enjoy the honeymoon!!
