Since my mom is coming to visit us here in VA a Month from Today, I am going to see if she can find some pictures from our trips to Disney whereas she has them all for me to post a few on here. Sadly I can't find my favorite picture of my sister and I with Eeyore from our first trip, but I will have to hunt for the couple of Disney pictures that I have with me.

Thank you Marnie and Belle. I did get to ask my mom a little bit ago about finding the pictures. The Spirit of Aloha was one of my favorite memories of when my sister and I went for the first time to Disney and our Aunt, Uncle, and one of our 3 cousins (Stephanie and my sister Pam are the same age) and I do remember the Hula Dancers having us up on stage with them teaching us how (so much fun). Hopefully she will have some time to look for at least a couple.

As a side note, she kind of hit me hard with some distrubing news when I was on the phone with her a couple of hours ago how one of my uncles (although my aunt has been divorced from him for quite some time) passed away last night, and my two cousins(my aunt who lives in Florida's daughters) from Florida are acting like jerks to my aunt and are about to leave my aunt's home to be forclosed on and leave her homeless. I love my aunt so much and she has overcome a lot and trying to get her life back together (she is a recovering alcoholic and a couple of years ago had throat cancer and had to have her trachea and 6 lymphnodes removed, but all of my mom's side of the family has stood by her and tried to help her as we could, and it's a shame her own daughters are not helping her and spending her money on her even while she was in the hospital with her surgeries). My cousins had said how they would help my aunt out and I'm so ashamed of their behavior, eventhough I love my cousins too. I'm sorry I needed to vent, given I know my grandparents raised 6 unbelievable daughters, and my grandmother right now has to be in such disbelief as to how my cousins are acting, especially my mom, and her 5 sisters have raised all 12 of us the way they were brought up by their parents, and it's just sad to see this is who my couins are turning into. I'm not even getting involved in it, other than just expressing my condolances to my cousins and my aunt, but the one thing crossing my mind is my cousins need a wake up call and deserve a slap across the face. My aunt doesn't need this at all nor does she deserve it either.

Hopefully I will have a happier update to our trip, again I'm sorry about the venting (at least it's in my own post), it's defanitely altered my happy mood slightely, but hopefully watching Aladdin (something Disney will alter my mood back).

It just dawned on me that we will be arriving for our trip 2 Weeks after my mom's Birthday next year (her b-day is May 15, so actually 2 days away from today) and I would also like to add some Extra Magic for her as well. I did mention to Erick although this trip is to celebrate our Anniversary and our belated Honeymoon, he knows that if I'm in Florida I don't pass up an opportunity to spend a little bit of time with my mom. Unfortuantely if we do fly down there we won't be renting a car, but the drive is short from my mom to come to Disney for a day or 2 and spend some time with us.

I was thinking of popping the news to her when she comes out here next month and trying to come up with a creative way to invite her to spend a day or 2 with us (We were thinking on a day where we split our day between Animal Kingdom and Epcot where the attractions are more tame for her that her back can handle and get some time in WSC with her and enjoy one of her FABs a Margarita with her). Also to add a night for her to stay with us if we do get the 2 double beds in our room is a small fee for one night that is do-able for us. I just can't think of ideas or at least something to present her with when she comes when I have one of my private days with her. We were also going to add her admission for the day or two to our tab for our trip. If anyone has any ideas please let me know what you have in mind. She has no idea what-so-ever of our trip yet, except for next year we're planning for a trip to Florida, but I do want to add in celebrating the best mother on the planet as part of our trip too. She will never let us throw her birthday parties, but it would be a shame not to include her in on a day or so of our fun when we're in her neck of the woods.

Becki it sounds like you're off to a great planning start! How lovely to want to invite your mom along for a few days! What a way to spread the magic!
to you and your family with the situation about your aunt & cousins.

Belle and Kelly, thank you so much. I hope I can get my mom to come for a day or two and I can share some of the same Disney Magic she's given my sister and I for so many trips that we've gone. It does make me happy though that Disney has added all of the shows but still has many rides and attractions that guests of all ages can enjoy.

The funny thing is my mom never asks much out of my sister and I, and she wondered all of the years she was a single mom to my sister and I how I didn't care even in high school about spending the weekend with my mom instead of being out with friends. She always wondered how it was that I stayed out of trouble and my sister was the trouble maker, but it didn't matter how old I was, there was always time for mom, and it's still that way, and I love to say this, I've always enjoyed her company.

Thank you so much for the pixies for my aunt and cousins (I just can't believe them being jerks to her). I did tell Erick last night given we haven't put any money down on our trip yet, I felt like we should cancel our trip and help my aunt out, but that did make him kind of mad but at at least he knew where my heart and intentions were, and it wasn't being done in a selfish way, it is to help a love one in need.

All I have to say is Goofy People at Erick's benefits website for the number they have to call for Disney Vacations. I just tried to call it and it was to order the PedEggs. I don't think PedEggs (although they do work and are great) work for booking a Disney Trip. I just gave Erick a good laugh over that one when I called him at work to let him know it's the wrong number. Since he's off of work tomorrow, we're going to look again tonight once he's home from Home Depot and make sure I get the right number and call again tomorrow (incase they need to speak to him the employee first to confirm he is an employee with Harris).

I finally got the right number to call to book our trip, however they don't have dates released to them for next year, so I will have to call back late Summer early Fall, but I'm so happy Erick wants my mom to come and join us in Disney for a couple of days and take care of the expenses for her. It will be a late Birthday and Mother's Day present for her next year, but I did spring the surprise over the phone to her today when I was finally able to wish her a Happy Birthday. I called her and she and a friend were at the Day Spa together (I'm glad she did soemthing relaxing on her birthday) and when I called her she and her boyfriend were checking into their hotel in none other than Orlando! She told me that her bf was taking her to see Cirque du Solelil tonight. I'm so happy for her and that she gets to have a very enjoyable Birthday Weekend. When she told me that I told her I had another surprise for her (she hates surprises, but this one was a good surprise and her reaction was priceless). I told her that we were planning to go to Orlando next year for our Anniversary and since the time we will be there will be a couple weeks after her Birthday, we wanted to celebrate her birthday with her at Disney! She gave me the most excited "Really" I've ever heard come from her, and I think she wants to come with us.

Given I've been thinking of cute and clever ways to ask her to join us and even tried making mickey sillouhette's using a compass (had no such luck), when we went to Hallmark earlier today to get my FIL's Birthday cards (his b-day's today), that I found a very cute Mickey card that has Mickey jumping for joy and says "Be Happy" on the outside and "It's the Birthday thing to do" on the inside and I wrote a hand written message inside that is just perfect way to hopefully get her to say yes to coming with us. I am thinking of other little things to add besides the card.

So now besides the restaurants I want to go to, I do need to think of the perfect one to make an ADR for her Birthday and hopefully when we book our trip, they can add her ticket for a couple of days to our Reservation, with adding her to our room, and getting her also on either the same Dining Plan as us for a couple of days, if not I don't mind paying OOP for her. I am trying to think of little things to either bring with or have delivered to our room upon her arrival to make sure she has a Magical Birthday (we are going to get her a Birthday Button to wear) and Extra Magic from us. I do feel bad returning the Disney Birthday Magic to my mom several years later after her helping my sister celebrate her 4th Birthday and my 11th Birthday at Disney, it's her turn now to get the same magic she's given us for her to receive some of her own and not worry about the cost of it.

I am going to go through both my PPer and on the Customized Map Section on Disney's Website and make Customized Maps for her arrival with non Thrill Rides for Mom to enjoy, and then with some Thrill Rides I'm dying to try and if it happens it happens

I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can give my mom a little Belated Birthday Celebration at Disney she won't ever forget

Thanks so much Jeff and Marnie. I was happy I could surprise my mom yesterday with our news of going to Disney and wanting her to come along for a few days! I haven't got much accomplished on the maps yet since Disney's Website wanted to keep pooping out on me yesterday and today I've been fighting a Monster of a Migraine that has had me sick all day. I felt really guilty asking Erick to stay home from work to help me with Skyler.

Thanks Jeff & Kelly. Yesterday I was going to see if the maps were back up on Disney's Website to try making them again(that was all of the planning I was going to do yesterday), but the migraine took over and yesterday was a relaxing day and I let Erick take care of Skyler. I was just feeling guilty making Erick lose 8 hours of work yesterday (he wasn't even on the schedule for yesterday but was still going to go in as usual), but Skyler's his responsibility as well. The only annoyance is I've both e-mailed and called the TA that I was working with before and no replies back from him, so we might have to work with another TA, but when that time comes it's what I'll do. Other than that, I think I might just let my mom know which restaurants we want to try when we go (other than Narcoossee's) and let her have her pick from the list and direct her to allears.net and let her tell me which one she wants to go to for her Birthday. Unfortunately her trip here in a couple weeks will be too short for me to take a look with her (I just want to enjoy her being here and us having fun together) and she can let me know which she likes the best Other than that I'm taking the planning quite slowly and at least have what we want to do known and what isn't on our list to do off, and just having the list of ADRs ready for when it's time to book those, besides being able to book our trip w/o any trouble!

I've still got the ants in my pants as to how soon we can book our trip, but it's getting closer. I was happy when my mom came to visit, she did say she wanted to come to Disney with us for a couple of days and she seemed very happy and appreciative that we wanted to celebrate her Birthday a little late in Disney on our trip next year! I did inform her to go to allears.net to find out where she wanted to eat for her Birthday Meal Maybe as a surprise since she loves Tea and it's been a while, I might surprise her with afternoon tea or a massage

I guess she and her DBF and his sister went to MK in March and tried to get over to DHS and they were already closed. She did seem very surprised when I told her she would be able to handle many attractions at Epcot and AK. She also did offer that if there were any rides Erick & I want to go on that she can't when she's with us, that she wouldn't mind staying with Skyler so we can enjoy some rides together (I thought it was very sweet of her). At least August is getting closer and I can't wait to start booking our trip finally.
