| My husband and I will be in WDW for a combo trip of our 10 year wedding anniversary, my 40th b-day and his 50th b-day.. we will have our 7 year old in tow. We renewed our vows in Jamaica at the 5 year mark and came up with a kooky plan to do it every 5 years in some new place. We had planned to go to Vegas and do some silly Vegas renewal but then this trip came up and there is no time to do both. Since it is just us and our daughter we would love to do something casual and obviously very small! LOL Any thoughts? Is this even possible? I know Disney has some fabulous wedding and vow renewal packages and a gorgeous pavilion but that is more than we need. (I would even go off property if need be) Thanks! |

| Lisa, are either of you military? We're doing our vow renewal at Shades of Green next September since Disney wouldn't do a package that was more like we wanted, instead of stuff we REALLY don't want. (They had me in tears on the phone!) Also, one of My sorority sisters renewed her vows at Swan and Dolphin, she said it was fantastic! -Kate |

| Lesa, I love your kooky idea! As you may know, the cheapest wedding/vow renewal package Disney has right now is $4,500, and, as Kate learned, they are not customizable. The Dolphin is a lower-priced alternative, but even then you will probably end up spending at least $1,500 for a package that includes a bunch of stuff you don't need. Shades of Green would be a good way to go if you can get a military sponsor (that person doesn't need to actually be there - they just call in on your behalf). You could rent the gazebo for $125 and then have a meal at Mangino's, the Poly, the Grand Floridian, etc. And there are no restrictions on wearing wedding attire at the Disney resorts, so you could take pictures on the grounds too. Leu Gardens is a popular local wedding venue: Leu Gardens Wedding Information ...But it looks like that will be $750 for the venue, including chairs, etc. Maitland Art Center in Winter Park is beautiful. They charge $400 for 2 hours' rental, plus a refundable $500 deposit. Rates Here's a pic my wedding photographers took: ![]() The Kraft Azalea Garden in Winter Park is another a local favorite. It costs $150 for 2 hours' rental. There's a brochure here: http://www.cityofwinterpark.org/2005...ngBrochure.pdf And here's a pic by my wedding photographers: ![]() We went there on a Saturday afternoon and no one was around - if you wanted to stand in the colonnade area and do it really casually, I'm sure no one would mind. I have also heard of people doing vow renewals in their resort rooms on Disney property. This is kind of a hot-button issue because Disney's policy is that you can't do any kind of wedding/vow renewal ceremony on property that doesn't go through the Fairy Tale Weddings department, and they reserve the right to escort you off property if you are caught. But I know that people do it a lot - I just wouldn't spread it around if you do, because the people who've paid for a Disney wedding tend to get kinda riled up about it.

| We are going all out for a vow renewal. We are going through DFTW and spending about $10,000. We are basically holding a reception for our 30 closest friends and family and then renewing our vows during the reception. We are writing our own ceremony and vows. If all you want to do is have the three of you together some where special and recommit to each other I don't see why you can't go for a nice stroll together find a romantic location say your vows and then go enjoy a nice dinner at one of the better more romantic locations. Of course it will be difficult to get pics unless someone else comes along. Good Luck and let us know what you decide!!! |

| I may have to look into some of the other locations you mentioned Carrie. DH and I are considering Disney, DCL, or DLR, however our problem is a guest list of 100(which would be pricy by Disney Standards).

| I just found a place called A Royal Wedding Chapel in Orlando an they do have a package available for Disney Fans for 1/2 the price of Disney's Escape Package and incldes limo to puck you up and drop you off at your resort. It even includes a cake pictures, Mickey & Minnie Bride and Groom Ears. I tried to copy and paste the link for you, but if you look under the Package Page on Royal Wedding Chapel - Central Florida Wedding Chapel - Orlando wedding chapel you should be able to find it. You can have up to 40 Guests too. They even have some packages for as low as $600.

| Thecake that they give you just looks like a white frosting undecorated cake you would buy at a Grocery Store(they show a pic of it on the website) that I would suggest bringing a Cake Topper With. If you needed extra cakes, I would suggest getting them from Publix(which are all over Florida and there's one near Disney and they have the best frosting for Store Bought Cakes I have ever tasted). The chappel charges you about an extra $40 per cake (I think they said their cake they give you serves up to 20 people), but at Publix you can buy as many extra cakes for far less than that decorated with Flowers. Public also will make Wedding Cake too.

| There are also places in Old Town which isn't too far from Disney that can accomodate Weddings and Vow Renewals. Old Town: Shopping, Dining, Entertainment Attraction, Amusement Park and Car Cruises in Kissimmee, Florida. Some of the restaurants there you can hold a private reception at.
