Spontaneous girls-only trip with BFF who is a military wife!

I am putting my 2 weeks notice in on Monday from my old job - fyi this is a good thing!
I work from home now, but starting 1/17 I'm going back to an office. It's a good change though, it's definitely not my cup of tea being home all day long, it gets depressing!

Anywho...before I lose my freedom a girlfriend of mine and I are plotting to sneak in a quick jaunt down to WDW!!!
We can drive because it's only about 7 hours from here. But we still need to keep the ticket and hotel prices down as much as possible so my husband doesn't freak out at me. We're pretty much on a shoestring/college kid type budget lol!

She is a military wife and I know that there are some pretty super deals she can get us. That 4 day pass deal for $138 is outrageous!!! Is that the only deal they offer? I am not sure we can go for so long, I wish they had a 3 day hopper deal?

What do you guys think the cheapest way to go on a room would be? I think military gets 30% off value resorts, but i wasn't sure if there was anything better out there i wasn't aware of? She hasn't been so she really has no idea what our options are either!

Thanks in advance for any tips!!

If she is a military wife she may be able to take advantage of a room at Shades of Green, which is the US Military onsite hotel. I don't know what the rules are--someone else here may be able to provide more help!

Thanks! Yes I looked into Shades of Green, it's gorgeous!! Unfortnately, at her husband's pay grade it would still be more expensive than if we stayed at a value resort.

I just wrote two articles (which were in the past 2 weeks' PassPorter Newsletters) about Shades of Green and admission options for military.

Disney Admission Options for Military Families: Military Family Series - PassPorter.com

Shades of Green Resort: Especially for Military Families - PassPorter.com

That might help at least a little!
