My father used to mock my love for Disney and call it cartoons, and ask why I would waste my money to go there. When DH and I bought our DVC I asked my parents to join us there for a week - DD was 3 months old and he hadn't met her yet since when she was born he was recovering from lung surgery and couldn't fly. So he consented and my parents drove up from Boca to meet us in Disney. He loved Disney so much and enjoyed all it offers, and the following year he took us and my sister and her family. He was definitely a convert after being there.
Hopefully your hubby will agree to one park, he'll see the kids excitement and be a convert as well. Fingers are crossed for you!
This is a tough one! You obviously know your DH best, and hopefully he isn't someone who will try hard not to have a good time just to be stubborn. How can you not be impressed with Disney?? It's impossible for me to believe that he wouldn't find something interesting, fun, delicious and/or enjoyable! Illuminations at Epcot; the resort itself; a signature restaurant; the service and atmosphere, etc. I truly hope this works out for you!

Actually, I'm afraid he is going to try hard to not enjoy it.. He is that stubborn.. The kids aren't going on this trip, so at least it's only me that will be affected. I've already told him that no matter what, I will be with my niece and brother in law for the one day we planned to do my sisters celebration of life.. Other then that day and me needing to stop at Epcot in Japan to replace some stuff of my son's that he bought on our Christmas trip that we shipped home in the one box that went missing.. We can do his stuff. I've printed a couple of menus from Epcot and DTD to see if he is even remotely interested. AK trails might be cool too.. Is there anyplace I can find descriptions of the trails and other things at ak I can print out for him? Thanks so much for the help!!
Allears.net has a nice description and lots of pictures of the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail at Animal Kingdom. No map, but you can at least read and/or print the info. Go to the Blog section, or just do a search once on the site and you should be able to find it. And if you're looking to impress, why not book a meal at Animal Kingdom Lodge? We were just there a week or so ago, and that place never ceases to amaze me. I hope you can turn this thing around!
I have been happily married for 16 years. I am the disney nut in the family and would go every other week if I could. The reason we are happy is that we have fun with each other no matter where we are. My hubby is not a big fan of Disney but he goes with the kids and me and has a good time being with us even though its not "his thing". We also do things that he loves because we love him. That is how grown ups and family behave. I would seriously question your husbands feelings if he can't do something that you love with you for a few days. JMHO

Oh, can readily believe that there ae some people out there who wouldn't and couldn't enjoy Disney. A friend of ours, for example, is ... well, "stick in the mud" comes to mind where things like Disney are concerned. He's a decent fellow, but he's not really one to enjoy theme parks, Disney or otherwise. He'd have more fun with a soldering iron in one hand, and circuit board in the other.

Woohoo! I think DH might have thawed a bit! I asked him what he thought about doing the Epcot Segway tour? He said sure.. Are there pictures? He wanted to see the helmets.. He is going to attach his go-pro camera to the helmet! Score!! Something he is excited about!! This means i might get my cheese plate in france after all!!! He even made a positive sound about RnRC! Not gonna push that one though..
The trip was awesome!!!! DH actually enjoyed himself! We did Epcot Segway tour, and he loved it!! Stayed in the parks in the mornings, out by afternoon.. Did fun stuff other then the parks too! Rented a convertible and drove to Ocala, and got nice and sunburned!! DH even did a character meal! We had breakfast at Tusker house, he even posed with Donald AND smiled by the time we headed home, he was saying "next year when we come back" woohoo! I think not asking him to go to magic kingdom was the best thing, as he was more then willing to go back to pofq and relax while I went with my bil and niece. I even managed to go on leap day evening by myself.. That was amazing.. I rode the rides I used to with my sister, ate the snacks we loved, it was nice to be able to have time there alone with my memories of her..I think it healed my heart like only Disney can.

I'm sooo happy for you! I think it's wonderful that you had that healing time for yourself and that your husband was able to come around a bit and find that Disney isn't as bad as he thought!
