| 5 months pregnant at WDW??? I'm asking for a friend. I helped her book her trip a month and a half ago...she found out just last week that she is pregnant. She and her dh are not ride people to begin with, so RnR, ToT, Splash M, Space M, those were all out anyway. Of the tamer rides, is there really anything that is off limits?? I know Test track is out, but what about Soarin'??? Her doctor told her not to go on Buzz Lightyear and I just could not see the logic...it's a slow moving track ride....as long as you're not spinning your car all around. She said no Dumbo or Tea Cups too...and that sounded so silly to me. Teacups...I can see if you're spinning them super fast...but Dumbo???? Really??? I know many Passporters have done Disney pregnant...please share your advice and how far along you were!! My friend is a worrier by nature and I would really love to help alleviate her fears!!

| Ahh...pregnant at Disney...been there...twice! 6 months along both times. This is how I handled it: none of the big rides, nothing with coaster in the title and no Dionsaur! In MK I simply avoided the mountains, and the Barnstormer in ToonTown, and the Grand Prix. Buzz, Dumbo, Pirates, HM, or any of the rest were no problem. Epcot, I did Soarin' without a problem at all. I stayed away from MS (which I don't like anyway) and Test Track. The Studios: ToT, RnRC and Star Tours were out. And AK, I avoided Kahli River Rapids, Expedition Everest, and Dinosaur. Aslong as your friend doesn't have a high risk pregnancy, the rest of the rides should be fine. Just tell your friend to keep hydrated and listen to her body, and rest when she feels she needs it! Hope this helps! |

| Yep, I agree with what Krista said. 'Specially keeping hydrated and resting even if it is sitting on a bench people watching for a little while. Look at each park map get an idea where all the restrooms are before she goes into any park, so she will know exactly where they are...lol. With all the water she will need to drink, she will be glad she did!

| I did Disney at 5 months pregnant with my second. I think a lot of it depends on the month you travel in. I was there inMay so it wasn't TOO too hot. That being said I just had a baby last August at 41 & honestly, I don't think I could have done all the walking no matter what month it was. Just due to my age...there was a big difference for me being pregnant at 40 than at 28! So I think it is definitely doable, it just depends on the circumstances. |

| I was 5 months pregnant in 2007 when we went. I took a break each day to go back & lay down. That was a great help! I took a hour & half nap and was good to go for the evening. I drank lots of water (we went the first week of June, so it was starting to get hot). I also just followed the Disney signs on what expectant mothers could not ride. I can't imagine Dumbo being an issue. I rode Buzz and Soarin with no problems. I did skip the Tea Cups though. It's really up to her and how she is feeling!

| I agree with the others...your friend will still be able to experience quite a lot! As for Buzz, I rode multiple times while pregnant (I was very early on). Maybe the doc saw the words "space ranger spin" and thought no way! But it's really quite gentle and you don't have to spin your car. Also at MK, I rode just about everything in Fantasyland, plus Haunted Mansion (a ton!) and Pirates. HOpe she has a good trip!

| I was there in August when I was 6 months. The heat was rough. Remember to tell her lots of water and lots of breaks with feet up (water retention. ugh). There are signs at all the rides in regards to the safety. Other then that it is a great visit. You get the plus of guilt free chowing on all the yummy things too.

| I did Universal Studios when I was early in my pg w/my 1st and was terrified to ride anything that said "no pregnant women". Looking back I realize that 1) they do that to cover themselves legally and 2) I think they really mean VERY pregnant women that could be put into early labor. Of course, as others have said, if this is a high risk pg I would be super cautious. And also, this may have been mentioned already, so forgive me if it has. The dr. may have been concerned about the spinning rides because of nausea. Pregnancy can make a woman prone to motion sickness. Some women are nauseous anyway, but even if they aren't, any fast, spinning, bumpy movement (even mild) can bring it on, it did for me! I would get sick driving on curvy roads! Your friend may want to be well informed of which rides could potentially make her nauseous. If she is feeling that way already then I would steer clear of all spinning rides or rides that change direction quickly, etc. It could really ruin a fun day! |

| There's no canceling the trip, it's already booked, airfare paid...non refundable.

| I will be heading to WDW in August and I'll be 3.5 months pregnant. We booked our vacation two months prior to becoming pregnant. This will be peanuts first disney trip, and it definitely won't be his/hers last. Tell your friend to kick up her heels and have a great time but to remember everyone has limitations. I look forward to hitting all the parks, drinking lots of water..finding the nicests bathrooms and relaxing on the closest bench when needed. I was looking forward to all the thrill rides, but now I know I will just have to take advantage of them the next time we do disney... The best perk is that I don't have to justify eating all the yummy desserts and Mickey bars... I've also heard that Dole Whips are to be enjoyed often! Hope you guys have a great trip! |

| I agree with the majority. Just skip the 'thrill' rides and she should be fine. I went in June 2007 at about 5 months pg as well and avoided the coaster-type rides. I don't think I did Soarin' or tea cups (but that was because we ran out of time). I did do the Safari, but asked to sit in front where it's less bumpy. Hope she has a magical trip!

| I was 5 months along on our last trip. I did Soarin', Dumbo and Toy Story Mania. I avoided anything that was not recommended for "expectant mothers." The parks have this info available for you--just get those... call a CM and see what they can send you or what site they can direct her towards. I didn't do much, granted, but it was still fun. To be honest, it wasn't my funnest trip ever, but that had to do with the heat, my son being a bratty two year old and feeling that we had to spend every moment with our traveling partners... extended family. My recommendations would be to go and have fun! Just don't expect the rides to be the big thing on this trip. Disney is great about having lots of non-big ride type attractions that she'll have no problem doing like... PhilHarMagic, It's a Small World, Living with the Land and such. What did help? My dad had a scooter and on a particularly difficult day for me, I borrowed it for a while. She might be embarassed, but people get it. She can just rent one when she feels like it at the park. She musn't think she can't explore that option. Also, being very well hydrated (64 oz + daily) even before she leaves. This not only helps with swelling, it absolutely keeps you cooler (and it works when you're not pregnant too). We also did midday breaks and that kept me going physically because not only did I get to rest, but I knew my rest was coming when I got tired at the park. Unless she has a high risk pregnancy, she should go... she'll have tons of fun and she can eat all the great food without a ton of guilt! Just tell her to pay attention to her body and do what she feels she needs to... that's the best advice I could give any pregnant woman. Oh! And just as a side note... when I was 5-6 months pregnant with my son (our first) we went to Belize, as in Central America. I rode tiny prop planes to scary small islands, swam in pools, oceans, lagoons. I went hiking, snokeling with stingrays and nurse sharks and rode several VERY bumpy river boats to get from here to there. I was a bit nuts, but no harm was done. LOL. Our bodies are designed to protect those precious babies and unless there is some other issue, they do a good job of it. When our bodies appear to fail us (and mine has in this way) it's not usually because we "did something wrong." Sometimes those things just happen. You can't stay in bed for nine months... what a boring story to tell your baby!

| When we go back in December my wife will be 6 months pregnant. I will rent her a wheelchair so she can rest when needed. We will be going with our 4 year old daughter and seeing her enjoy herself is what the trip is all about. It is a vacation, you should enjoy yourself, only you know your limitation beyond Disney's recommended ones. Make the best of your trip and take tons of pictures of the babies first trip to Disney in belly I sure will. ![]()
