| YAY McClaren Trimph I got one for my almost 4 yr old LOL. I bought it just for Disney 1. she weighs 40 lbs and is tall for her age. 2. she weighs to much for us to carry to the room if tired. "we are all old and have back problems." 3. she LOVES it " picked it out herself" 4. 130 dollars to rent or 160 to own 5. the strollers weight limit is 55 pounds so maybe get another year or so use out of it 6. it is light and very compact to no trouble to fold up on the bus! 7. it is tall enough for tall ppl ( not me I am the only short one ) SO for those reasons I am not to upset. LOL since it cost more than I would normally ever would have given for a stroller she calls it her cadillac HAHAHHA ( I told her that day we bought it , hunny you have a cadillac for a stroller , so the name stuck) ANYWAY we have already been using it. Our daughter LOVES it so it is already worth the money and knowing it is compact , comphy , it reclines, has a decent basket and it is going to be convienent! I CANT WAIT TO DO DISNEY NOW WOOOOHOOOO |

| I just bought the Mclaren volvo for my 4 year old. She's 40 lbs too and loves the stroller. I love it too. Super light easy to fold and best part is was on sale for 99 bucks then I had a coupon and got it for 84 dollars!! It was hard to find a stroller to carry her weight and that was super easy to push. Congrats!!! |

| I decided this year to have DD7 walk. She is 44 lbs and I just wasn't going to purchase a stroller for her for 5 days.

| i bought my 6th stroller with our trip in my but didn't tell my Dh that. I keep buying them & then selling them on craigslist or Ebay when I want a new one. I bought a valco Buggster & I love it. Big, wide seat, removable washable seat & seat liner, big canopy & basket easy recline & has a carry strap when folded, also has a zip in UV/bug screen & a rain cover. Sort of a pain to fold but I'm practicing. nothing beats my joovy kooper but this one is easier to carry & has a bumper bar plus it is a little more comfy for extended periods. you can always sell it when you're done. |

| I can't believe I'm commenting on a stroller post, but I guess that shows just how much fatherhood has changed me this past year. My wife registered for a McLaren stroller before Maddy was born. I constantly ridiculed the thing because it was about $200 (not sure exactly which model). I also called it the "Cadillac" of strollers. Sure enough her sister bought it for us. Before our trip this past January I was concerned about bringing it to Disney. Between the flight and the parks I was sure it would be destroyed and that it would be better to bring a cheap umbrella stroller instead. My wife insisted on the McLaren and I have to admit she was right. It's so compact and easy to fold at both the airport and parks. And as was stated above it reclines, has a nice basket, and also has an adjustable sunshade. We are leaving this weekend for another trip and the McLaren will most definitely be going with us. It quickly became our primary stroller and has showed very little wear and tear. It will again be a savior, and hopefully will last us for years to come. I guess sometimes it is true that you get what you pay for! Just don't tell my wife that I admitted she was right and I was wrong!

| Congrats. I love the MacLaren strollers. For our trip, I picked up a used double MacLaren for my girls (I had already sold all of our stroller, because we didn't use them anymore, but knew we would need one for Disney. It was an older model, so it didn't recline, but I LOVED that it was an umbrella stroller that had taller handles (we are all tall) and heavier kids, so it will last us for our next trip too. Then I can sell it again for not a lot less than I paid for it.

Do you think there is any chance that your 6 year old may at any point want to lay back or doze off. I know days at disney are much longer and the kids are way more active than at home. Not sure how much your 6 year old weighs, but I would suggest seeing if you can find a double mcclaren or another favorite of mine is the double jogger (especially the ones that fold really easy and are compact). You could just rent the disney strollers since your kids are a bit older, but then you have to turn them in at the end of the night, and if by chance either child is asleep, you would have to carry them from that point on. I have a McClaren Triumph and I do love it for its features. I have not taken it to disney yet just because the basket is not very big and is hard to get into. My ds will be 18 months on our next trip and we love having the extra basket space and cup holders on our graco quattro tour deluxe. I have a skip hop bag that hooks to the handle but we like to put the rainhood, sweatshirts and other items in the basket. We use the Triumph alot at home, on trips to the mall or if we don't want to take up much room in the trunk. Do you gate check your McClarens at the airport or do you stow them in the over head bin?? | |
