Can they kiss them?

Hi all. We are headed to WDW in Nov. While reading Mulan for bedtime tonight I told my twins we would maybe meet Mulan while at Disney. My DS says "I am going to give her a big hug!." My DD says "I am going to give all the princesses a big kiss - do they like kisses?" I said, "I don't know but will ask." So, PP'ers can the little one's give kisses to the face characters or should I prepare my DD that they just do hugs? Thanks for the info!

They do! Although I generally see them accept kisses on the cheek (for sanitary reasons, I'm guessing.)

They will also kiss the kids on the cheeks and it's fun to see the little ones running around with a great big "stamp" of a kiss after they've met a princess.

I wouldn't for sanitary reasons. But the Princess do sometimes give Kisses, my son received a Kiss from Mulan this past May & as we walked around Epcot all the CMs took notice saying the very lucky boys & girls get kissed. But they do love those great big hugs they get from the kids.

I say let them kiss the princesses on the cheek. Kids get exposed to waaay more unsanitary things than a princess cheek at WDW, and that look on your DD's face will be priceless! Just my opinion.

I agree with PPs that this is really unsanitary, even on the cheek! Kids can be sloppy kissers and to me it would be like letting my daughter share saliva with a stranger by eating from the same spoon. YUCK!

Maybe you could tell your kids that a princess can only kiss her special prince, but that she loves hugs from everyone? I dunno - my DD would rather wrestle Capt. Jack Sparrow than see a princess, so I'm not up on these things.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind spending a little time with Johnny Depp myself!

IMHO, I don't think it's that big of a deal for your child to give a princess a peak on the cheek (I'm not talking about sloppy kisses, which I would hope most parents would help their children avoid doing...)You have to put this into perspective, think about all of the things your kids touch while you are at WDW (standing in line, riding rides, etc.) Unless you are constantly hosing down your child with lysol, they are going to come into contact with lots of germs (even on/in their mouth, think of how many times a child puts their hand in their mouthes.) I know my son and niece have come into contact with way more germs than all the Princess's cheeks combined. One time my niece was with my sister at the BMV and she said she looked over and she was going from chair to chair, licking the back of each one (totally gross!) And this summer we were in NYC with our son and he 1. laid down on the platform waiting for the subway (double gross) and 2. seriously touched every single thing possible in that city (he even was messing with a piece of chewed gum someone stuck under a railing- triple gross!) I could go on!!

Those photos would be priceless! I say go for it!

I was a face character at Disneyland a long time ago and we allowed kisses. Of course, we were all much less germ phobic back then. LOL

Aladdin pulled the old "I've got a secret for you" thing and kissed my Emily on the cheek!

A little bit concerning to me that a grown man kissed her...but now we can say her first kiss from a non-family boy was Aladdin.

So...like others have said, I'm going to assume that cheek kisses are fine.
