| Bottle bag and Airport Security? Does anyone know if the Playtex Fridge to Go bag is allowed on the Airplane? Our other option is a soft cooler but I am not sure if we are allowed to put a baggie full of ice in there. I do know that the hard ice packs are not permitted. |

| There are exceptions for baby formula/breast milk. I brought on a jar of Gerber oatmeal too. We just pulled it out of the bag separately to show the TSA guys first. TSA: Traveling with Children But I don't know about the ice or the special bag.... I just got our babies (DD was 11 weeks, and DS was 7 mos at their times) used to room temperature stuff, and they were fine. I only brought enough for about 3 feedings, and figured that would get us through the airport, through the flight, and to our hotel. It worked both times. ![]()

| I´m not sure how long are your travel. If it is short you can leave at ambiance temperature for a couple of hours without much problem. Other option in those "box juice" (I do not know how to write it) - I always pick one or two (soy apple and pineapple with mint are hewr favourit)for my DD and a chocolate milk in this format too. If we do a longer trip I´ve already frozen a bottled milk and leave the house with it frozen...after a couple of hours it starting melting. 3 or 4 hours later it is perfect for drinking!!!

| Sometimes the airlines have milk, I've gotten that for my kids before. You could call and ask your airline if they have it and bring along a straw or a sippy cup. Or just purchase it from a place at the gate right before you board the plane (for extra $$, I know but it's more convienent). Last Sept, our youngest was 22 mos. and I brought along a throw-away cup and asked the flight attendant for apple juice. Twice!!!

| I know that the juice wouldn't be an issue to take without a cooler bag, ds has had juice not completely cold before. The milk was a slight issue since we are getting in in the evening and using DME. He usually drinks his milk in the evening and I want to make sure I am covered in case we are late getting there or don't get milk for the room right away. He may not drink milk during the flight but I am hoping that if he is a bit sleepy he may drink some and doze off! That is my wish! We have a 2 hour flight. MY parents are driving down and will arrive the next morning. They will be bringing our luggage. We plan to only carry on a bag with what we need the first night and ds's diaper bag. Right now ds doesn't drink plain apple juice, didn't like it before. I have to try it again, since that will probably be the easiest juice to get on the airplane and resorts. I plan to send some juice in the car with my parents. I guess if I call the airline and ask about the cooler bags and you are not allowed to bring the fridge to go bag or a baggie of ice, I will probably just put the cups of juice in a soft cooler bag and empty cup for milk and take that along. I am sure the insulation will keep the cups cool for a little while. I don't want to be carrying alot of stuff, but I want to make sure I am covered for the flight and first night. Ds doesn't really like chocolate milk. Another thing I did in the past was pack those little gerber juice bottles along. I still mix with water so I would just have to get water from the attendant. |

| My DBF just flew and brought their small bottle bag with ice in a ziploc and they didn't have any issues. I would do it with the minimum of liquids so if there is a problem you won't be wasting much.

| We flew last winter and my little guy was on an antibiotic that had to be refrigerated and I took it in a small cooler with an ice pack and they never even asked about it so I think you should be fine.

Was it a hard ice pack or one of those squishy ones? A lady at Southwest told me the hard ice packs are not allowed. I am going to call back though and speak to someone and try and get a few questions answered. I think when it comes to the fact that its for a child, certain items are allowed. When we flew last time we had powder formula and room temp water in the bottles, so we didn't have to worry about this type of thing. | |

| It was a squishy one. We have traveled quite a bit with both our boys 3y and 15m and all of it post liquid restrictions and they have always been great about what we need. I had a regular sized over the counter decongestant for my 3 year old last time we flew as he was recovering from a cold and I wanted his ears to be able pop at take off and landing. I hoped to wait until right before we boarded to give it to him so it would not wear off before we landed. It was over 3 oz and I was hoping they would not take it away. They saw it was for a child and that he was sniffling and did not have a problem. They were very nice about it.
