| well.......we did the mvmcp last year with our ds who was 8 months at the time. he ended up falling asleep a little while before the first parade. luckily he woke right when it started but he was still drowsy and fell back to sleep right after. It is a late night. We ended up leaving right after the parade because we felt like at least we got to see that, but we didn't think it was fair to drag him around that late when we weren't even going to be able to get pictures of him with the characters. looking back it was probably a waste of money since we had purchased 4 adult tickets. this year we are going in october and at first were planning on doing the MNSSHP but after really thinking about it, our ds will be 18 months and we were weighing whether he will really get to enjoy it, will he be tired again by the time it starts and once again not get to really interact with the characters in costume or see the parade. We decided to skip it this time and will make it a point to go back when he is a bit older to do the party. Same with the mvmcp, we will take him back to the party during our next christmas trip, possibly next year. It will be fun for you, but for us, seeing ds with the characters and showing him everything was the highlight of our trip, when he was sleeping, we felt lost! Now we have been to disney so many times before ds, too many to count and never had a problem keeping uorselves busy, but it was much different having ds there, our trip revolved around him and that was perfectly fine with us! |

Thanks! Well we took him in May for his 1st Birthday & he loved it! He recognized most of the characters from playhouse disney and disney movies, It was super fun for DH & I too him enjoying himself, but he did get tired and he will fight his sleep but i hate to see him do tht so He will probably be worn out like ur lil one was, so I just might be a waste of money because like you We won't keep him out when he is sleeping because there is nothing fun to do with him asleep & I hate for him to miss out on things! So thanks so much for tht It is rly going to help us out!! & save us a lil | |

| no problem. I agree that it wasn't much fun when ds was asleep! It definately felt like he was missing things so we would usually just stroll around waiting for him to wake back up. There are so many other things you can do with ds on this trip and you will have that bit of extra money too. we were really excited about the MNSSHP since we have never done it, but after alot of thought, it would not be worth it this year. I think you have a much happier little one if you let them get their rest and at this age, they get much better rest in bed! We plan to start our days early after ds rises and how late we stay out will depend on ds and what type of nap he had that day! Good luck and have fun! |

| Last year, we took our kids to the MNSSHP and my baby was about 14 mo old and he LOVED it. Seeing the park at night with the lights, costumes, and music was great for him. He was not restless or overwhelmed at all. Of course this depends on the kid, but it worked for us! |

| I agree that our 8 month old enjoyed the party also, but it was only while he was awake, he ended up falling asleep after the parade so for us, it wasn't worth spending the money and not being able to show him more stuff. now if you have other children who are older, I can totally see spending the money to take them and having your baby along for the ride. |

| I would wait till he is a little older to do the party that way he is able to enjoy it and do some of the events that they have during the party.

| We took DD when she was 2. Usually she was a night owl, so we didn't anticipate any problems. We hadn't expected her to be awake at 5 a.m.: "I go see Mickey NOW!" She made it through the first parade and LOVED it. Then DH and I saw the shows, the carolers, had cookies and cocoa (she wouldn't have liked the cocoa anyway!) while she napped in her stroller. She slept through the fireworks, but we enjoyed them. Aren't MVMCP tix free for the under-3 set? If so, I'd go for it. Just take a stroller that reclines and a blanket in case it gets cool.

| I went in December when DS was 2 months old . . . he slept through pretty much the whole thing and we were still able to ride lots of things. Being that it is not just for kids, I really didn't give any consideration as to whether or not he would enjoy it . . . I wanted to go, therefore, he was going with. He's got plenty of time before he, himself, can enjoy the MVMCP events (and still a little while before a ticket has to be bought for him to get in) . . . but that doesn't mean that you should miss out on it. You should take advantage of only having to buy 2 tickets ![]()

| MVMCP is a must-do for us, but with a child that small, you may have to resign yourself to a very early night. My five-year old only made it until 10:00 or so, but it was still worth every penny. Since you can get into the MK at 5:00, you can still get a few hours in and see some of the extras you wouldn't see otherwise.
