| 20 month old in a pack n play....he's starting to climb out!! My ds will be 20 months when we go to WDW end of September into October. We use a pack n play at home to keep him corralled when I need to get things done and I need him out of the way: ie- mopping the floors. He's slept in it before...whenever he stays the nights at Grandma's house and there's never been a problem...until recently... now he can climb out. The pack n play sits in our living room but up against the chair...he climbs out onto it and gets down. We had him in it the other day, not against the chair, against nothing and he had climbed up on the side and was 2 seconds from falling on his head. We have to use it in WDW....he cannot sleep in a bed with rails....he moves way too much and would shimmy to the bottom of the bed while he sleeps and roll off. Plus, it would be super hard to keep him in bed if he didn't want to be there. I need some suggestions....the few that came into my mind were a pack n play net 9the ones they sell to keep bugs out) or somehow clamping a blanket over top...not to cover the whole thing, but it will be against the wall and he can't climb over the sides, it's higher than the front. If I put a blanket over the edge of the front, cover it by like a foot....he won;t be able to get tot eh edge to climb over it...am i making any sense??? I know what I'm envisioning in my head!! LOL!!! So far, he has not tried to climb out of his crib...if he does, we may get a crib tent.....he's just too little to put in a toddler bed. Sorry this is so long...thanks if you made it this far!! Any suggestions???

| My rule....the first time they TRY to climb out of the PnP or crib the side comes off the crib (My crib has a sliding side that is removable to make the crib into a "daybed" of sorts) Yes, annoying when your 18 month old will not stay in bed but it only took us about 4 nights with each of our three children to make them understand that they stay in bed when it's bedtime. My two year old (who would climb out of his pack n play at home if I even tried to put him in at 20 mos) was so wiped out at WDW that he ASKED to get in the PnP at night and for naps!! He did just fine because he was so tired he would have slept anywhere!

| I'll just have to hope he's tired enough to go right in the pack n play at night. We never had a problem when we went to WDW when DD was 2-1/2...but then again, she never ever tried to climb out of a pack n play, even at home.

| I've never put my kids in a pack n play. Once they tried to climb out of crib, it was time for toddler bed. When we were at Disney in June with my just turned 2 yr old, she slept in the bed with her sisters. Good luck to you! |

| Well my DD is 25mos. and never tried to climb out of her crib. I was hoping to keep her in there until Christmas and then into a "big girl" bed. However 2 weeks ago she broke her crib jumping and rocking in it so we didn't have a choice. So far she sleeps fine in her bed (twin mattresses on the floor with rails) and hasn't tried to get out. I had wanted to get a tent to put over the crib but now that is a moot point. Anyway I would get a tent for over the pack n' play or I would just bring a sleep mat for the floor. You could get a toddler travel bed or mat and it just rolls up. If he rolls off the mat onto the floor he might not even wake up. Here is a link: Kidco Red Peapod - Kidco - Babies "R" Us another option: Trucks Nap Mat with Blanket - Baby Boom - Babies "R" Us My DD nap mat (simular to this) is very comfy and we would use this for trips to grandma's if we need to. Folds up and has a blanket and a pillow.

| Once my girls started climbing out - it was time for a toddler bed. When we travelled at that age I took a air mattress beds that I bought at Walmart for about $20 bucks for them. If they roll off they are only a couple of inches from the floor and they never woke up. It comes with attached blanket etc. Just add child and it rolls up like a sleeping bag.

| I know there is no way possible he will sleep on the floor. He will get up and climb on one of the beds. We do not co-sleep....especially with him...he moves ALL over the place. Sharing a bed with his sister is not an option...he will roll around and end up at the end of the bed and fall off. I didn't think they made pack n play tents, just crib tents which are way too big for a pack n play...I'll have to look into it. So far he has not tried even once to climb out of his crib....but I will be getting a crib tent soon...he is just way too little to put in a toddler bed. He'd stand up and end up falling out. Safety first for me...so until he is mature enough to go in a bed and not stand or climb out....it stays a crib.

| Problem solved!!! Thanks eff051102 for suggesting the tent for the pack n play..I never ever realized they made these for pack n plays. I just bought one on Walmart.com. I checked ebay and they were way more expensive..saved like $15 on Walmart.com and no shipping..I can pick it up at the store. I'm thinking I can sell it afterwards and make back at least half of my cost.

I'm sure other's have had the same issue. My DD is small also and NEVER tried to climb out of her crib, she just broke the crib by jumping and rocking in it. ![]() I wanted for the crib to last until Christmas but no go. We talked about a toddler bed but didn't want to spend the money (her crib was to turn into a toddler bed...but it's broken now) so we just bought 2 bed side safety rails and use them with the twin mattress set on the floor. She gets in and out of bed from the foot and it's not that far off the floor so it doesn't scare me. However when we travel it's the pack n' play or we don't go! She/we need our sleep and we have never co-slept and I don't think we ever will. DD moves around to much to get any sleep. KJ
