| Need Advice on When to Go We were originally going to go to Disney in September when my DD would be 15 months, but we're having Disney withdrawl and are now thinking about going in January, when she will only be 8 months. We are DVC members and the reason we are considering those two months is because they are value months for us. We will also be doing a 3-day Disney cruise as well, so any way we can save money is a plus. What would you do? There seem to be pros and cons to each month, but this will be my first time traveling with a baby so any advice is welcome

| I would myself go by when you can get the best pricing for the cruise, but based on age September might be easier to travel with the 15 month old. I can see how this is a tough decision. I think I'd stick with September.

| I'd go in January. Not only is it cheaper, but now, because September has become associated with free dining, the parks are incredibly crowded at times when they used to be quite empty. Plus, it's still rather hot in September, whereas January is quite nice temperature-wise. And you don't have to worry about hurricanes in January!

| I'd go in January. Its cooler and less crowded (check for holiday / marathon weekends). Plus moving around WDW with baby before they learn /want to walk may be easier. As soon as my guys could walk they wanted to and hated the stroller. (think blood curdling screams).

| I think I'd pick January; just avoid the marathon and MLK weekend if you can. The only downside is that you may/may not be able to swim, but the cooler temps really make park touring much more pleasant and would be more comfortable for your baby.

| We travelled when DD was 9mos and another time when DS was 7mos both times were incredibly easy, they are so totable at that age and with the childcare areas they have in each park it makes it even easier. We also went again when DD was 14mos and again she was very easy to travel with, the only difference was when both children were younger I wore them while at the parks and also used the stroller. When DD was 14mos we used the stroller and she walked a bit when she needed to stretch her legs. As for which month would be better I think both are good months to go as far as crowds go. January will be cooler than September. HTH good luck with your decision |

| I too, would go ahead and book January. I love Sept/Oct but I know what its like to be in disney withdrawal! I also like May. We took ds last December when he was 8 months. We had fears and planned for the worst, but everything went great. He was only crawling at the time, so he was fine in the stroller (now he can't wait to get out of the stroller!). I think the key is to have an open mind. You need to be flexible, no hurry to get anywhere. At 8 months, there was so much to see, so much activity and being outdoors is great, my ds loved the fresh air and it really wore him out by the end of the night. I say go for it and relax and have a great time. You will ENJOY seeing your dd discover disney for the first time. I know we did! We are going back next month and ds will be 18 months at the time. I can't wait to see how different he is on this trip. |

| Well, I went ahead and booked our trip for January!!! I wanted to thank everyone for all of your advice. For as many times as I've been to Disney World, I feel like this is my first time going since this is a whole new experience. I'm sure I'll have a ton more questions as the trip gets closer

| You are going to have a blast! I know we did when we took my ds for the first time. We found ourselves not really wanting to do much while he was napping in the stroller, just strolled around the park waiting for him to wake so that we could show him more stuff! I agree that even though we had been to disney a million times, taking our ds for the first time did feel like our 1st Trip, we were just so excited to share Disney with him! Can't wait to hear about the cruise, we would love to try it some day. Where will you be staying? |

| My ds was a complete angel when we took his last year at 9 months!! He was more than happy to sit in his stroller, marvel at the sights... He ate baby food, so that was real easy. And when he was tired, he just conked right out!! I brought a thin blanket that I clipped to the shade of the stroller and it covered him and kept the sun completely off him.

| January is a great time to go to Disney. The weather is great. The days start and end with a temperature of about 50 degrees. But it warms up during the day to about 75-80 degrees. The crouds are a lot smaller and the prices are lower. It depends on how your child is. Our daughter was 19 months old when she went to disney the first time. She loved it. The first time we traveled with her was when she was 7 months old. We went to Puerto Rico with her. It was good. Like I said you have to know how your child will react to the trip. I hope this helped. Enjoy your trip. I guess you have made your choice. ![]()

| We went when my DS was 8 months and 15 months. The only thing that was different was at 8 months he was on a bottle and at 15 months a sippy cup. It was very easy at both stages. Have fun!!! |
