So, I have my passporter membership, my touring plans membership and even a TGM membership so I can plan every little detail of our next trip... but.... She's 39 inches! Do you think she will grow an inch in the next 123 days? I'm trying to figure out which rides she can do versus which rides she'll want to do. DH and I have done all the big thrill type rides many times over the years so we don't need to do ride swaps and like to plan our days out according to her. I just don't know how to plan because I don't know if she'll be tall enough.
I've never really paid attention to how fast kids grow, LOL!
I would make plans based on what she would be able to ride today and get really excited about what she could ride today and ignore what she can't. That way if she does end up growing two inches in about four months all those rides will be a big bonus but if she doesn't there won't be meltdowns due to not being able to ride ride x.
Yes she can! We had the same issue with my daughter and by the time we left she was 40 inches tall. We even purchased her shoes with a thicker sole and she was over 41 inches then.
I just want to plan better and make touring plans for each park so we do more this trip than we usually do with her. I'm not trying to sneak her own, i know it's a safety concern. I just wasn't sure if in 4 months an inch was even possible, LOL!
I'm really not even sure if she'll be too scared for the bigger rides but it'd be nice to have more choices. She sees the commercials for ToT on Disney Channel and begs to go on that. DH and I look at each other and say "Not It!"
My daughter was at 40 inches as measured by her doctor two days before we left. Once we were at Disney she went on Big Thunder Mountain and other 40" requirement rides. We go to TOT and in front they measured her and said she could go on. After standing in line and getting all the way to the front of the line the CM at the front of the line said she didn't feel comfortable allowing her to ride. She was disappointed, but she got to ride it the next trip. Safety after all is the #1 priority. By age 5 she was able to go on all the rides.
I feel fairly confident in saying that four months is plenty of time to grow an inch. Kids grow faster in the summer months, so she might be doing it already! You could always check with her pediatrician and see what her growth has been like over time and see what they think too.
Do you keep a growth chart at home? We used to check off our kid's heights on a fairly regular basis. We could see how they were growing that way.
I scribble with pencil on a doorway but I didn't write the dates so it's apparently useless for metrics, LOL! She's my first, I'm oblivious to these things! We have to bring her back to the pediatrician in September so I'll have her officially do a height check then and get an idea of how fast she grows!
I think she will grow an inch in 4 months no problem. I just had DD at her Dr's appt yesterday and she had grown 3 inches in one year! And she is only in the 40% on her height, so she is on the shorter side. We actually had the same dilemma for our trip last year, she measured 39 inches in July and our trip was in September. She hit right at 40 inches when we left for our trip and we were able to fit in all of the 40 inch rides. She even rode ToT. I hope your DD hits the mark, sounds like she is going to be a little dare devil.
