Hello, I am currently planning our family (myself, DH, DS 19, DS 16, DS 14, DS 8, DD 18months, and in-laws) Disney world trip Dec.28-Jan.4th. This trip will be my DD age 18months first trip and we will also be celebrating my 40th birthday. Would like suggestions on how to make this a special and spectacular trip. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.
I *think* they still hand out the pins, get DD a 1st trip pin and have her wear it or keep it on her stroller or the diaper bag or just somewhere that it can be seen (I've seen kids wear them on hats). We had our own stroller with us on DS's first trip and I pinned it to the canopy so every one could see it. He was only 10m old so I didn't want to pin anything to him. Make sure you get your birthday pin too.
We were there for hubby and DS's birthdays a few years ago, their b/days are a day apart. DH wanted to have dinner at Tony's. I told them it was his birthday and they were supposed to bring a small cake out but it never showed up. DS had a breakfast *birthday party* at Chef Mickey's the next morning. I can't remember the number that I called but when I made our reservation I asked about a birthday cake and they gave me a number to call. After breakfast DS had a birthday cake, they sang Happy Birthday and Goofy came out to play with him. Goofy was acting like he was going to steal DS's birthday cake, he was acting like he was going to blow out the candles, just all kinds of fun stuff. Since it was his 3rd birthday he really got a kick out of all of the goofiness that Goofy provided!
At 18m DD might have already had her first hair cut, but if she hasn't I highly recommend going to the Barber Shop on Main Street and having her first hair cut done there. I know it's a *Barber Shop* but we saw plenty of little girls in there getting their hair cut. It was 5 years ago so I don't know if things have changed but DS got *My First Haircut* Mickey ears that he wore the rest of the day and they still sit on top of his bookshelf in his room. He was about your DD's age and the poor child was soooo overdue for his hair cut but I trimmed him up as much as I could leading up to the trip. It wasn't until he had his haircut about mid trip that I really realized how girly he looked with his overgrown hair.
Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else , but if I do I'll come back. Have a wonderful trip!!!

thanks for the Good ideas!! My DD hasn't had a haircut yet, so good idea, will look into it. Also, the birthday cake is a Good idea. I have been thinking about Chef Mickey's for a birthday breakfast and since it's vacation Cake for breakfast would be good. As for the pins I will make sure we get those. Thanks for the advice, appreciated.
With 7 of you, if I counted correctly, I'm sure you could finish up the cake. It was just 4 of us and we were able to share with the family at the table next to us. Their kids were THRILLED to have cake for breakfast! Not to sure that Mom and Dad were ~ LOL!
Really, whatever you do it will be a fantastic trip. Nothing like celebrating your birthday in Disney!!! My b/day is in July and I also turned 40, but decided not to brave the heat or the July 4th crowds. I think I'm going to pick a day while we are there and celebrate being 40 and fabulous!
