I am extemely late in checking to see if there is any availability for character dining because we didn't think we wanted any......ooooopppps! I have changed my mind because the only thing I remember about my trip with my mom when I was 5 was the character dining breakfast. My ?......if you were taking 2 boys ages 4 (bday boy) and 5 to one character dining experience, which would you choose? (and this is if there is any availability). We are staying at the Contemporary and have heard Ohana was really good. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thank you
We've only done a couple, but with older kids, Crystal Palace( Pooh and friends), and Chef Mickey's.
Chef Mickey's , you are right there, it's easy to get to, and Mickey, Goofy, Donald.
Ohana's looks like fun too, easy hop on the monorail.
If you want that awesome pic of your kids in on Main St in MK, make an early ADR at Crystal Palace, before the park opens. You have to bring proof you have an ADR.
Not sure if you're asking for bfast, lunch or dinner.
I would say, based on where you are staying -- Chef Mickey's.
We LOVE it there and have booked there every trip we've gone.
We've also done Ohana once and that was fun. There's also the one in Animal Kingdom -- which the name is totally escaping me right now.... that one is nice too - and all your "classic" characters.
I would vote for Chef Mickey's or any character lunch/dinner opportunity.
We love character meals, just not breakfast, as we don't want to spend the least crowded/most productive time in the parks eating. We're okay with a very late breakfast. I love it that there are many character dining opportunities for lunch and dinner.
Have a great trip!
We've done just about every character breakfast in WDW. For kids your age, I'd go with Chef Mickey's, Ohana's, Crystal Palace, or Tusker House (aka, "the one in Animal Kingdom!" )

LOL!!! Thank you! I couldn't remember the name..... it was something different previously, wasn't it? I think they've just changed the name in the last 4 years or so?

Yes, it originally was at Restaurantosaurus. It moved to Tusker House about 4-5 years ago.
