We will be going to TOKYO Disney in a couple of weeks and from what I remember from a few years ago, DH and I even had some trouble sometimes finding things that we thought we would enjoy because the Japanese palate is quite different. And if it can be difficult for us, then 2 kiddos who are used to their chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese will really be put off by the "different" food.
So, this blog was along the lines of "to save money, we decided to not purchase kids meals and just let the kids share some off our our plates, with the healthy addition of foods we can bring from home" and they mentioned string cheese, juice boxes, crackers, apple sauce, and fruit snacks.
What would be some other snack foods that would keep in my backpack to have ready to hand to the girls when we are standing in that hour(s) long queue for TSMM -- it is also a huge hit in Japan -- and they look up at me and say "Mommy, I'm hungry."
Thanks in advance!

Oh how fun! Tokyo DL! If it wasnt such a long and expensive flight for me, I'd love to go there!
As for snack food to pack, what about granola bars? Zip lock baggies of Cherrios? Apples?
Have a great trip!
I'm taking Uncrustables for my 17 yr old but its tricky because they do have a time limit of being left out, FYI!! What about those new fruit and veggie pouch things, don't know what they are called, (new since my daughter) look like a capri sun?? carrots, goldfish crackers, whole wheat pretzels, not sure if your kids like meat but my little 4 yr old niece is crazy about beef jerky, (crazy I know) and beef sticks) easy to take, non refrigerated, we have also made our own chex mix, dried fruit mixes, and trail mix, raisins...
I found baggies of homemade trail mix with lots of nuts to be invaluable at the parks. They need no refrigeration, they pack small, satiate hunger well, easily eaten while standing in line(skip the chocolate components though as they will melt)
