Hello, My Fiance and I are going to Florida on our honeymoon. We will be staying at my Uncle's condo. But flying into MCO is cheaper. I figured if we are going to be that close to Disney we should go to the Very Merry Christmas Party. I also wanted to have a nice fancy dinner. Not only will it be our honeymoon but also my fiancé's birthday. Any suggestions for a nice dinner thats not in the parks would really be helpful. I have always eaten in the parks.

We've never eaten at the restaurants at The Grand Floridian other than 1900 Park Fare and that's not what you're looking for, but I have heard Narcoossee's and Victoria and Albert's are both very good. Narcoossee's says you can watch the fireworks at MK from their verandah which could be a plus.

I'd go for the California Grill - we always love our meals there and you get a great view of Wishes.

My DBF and I LOVE Narcossee's, it is very romantic and beautiful. It is on the water and the food is delicious. I would definitely go there and you can watch wishes from the veranda and if you ask you might see it from your table.

California Grill would be perfect. It is located on top of the Contemporary resort and overlooks MK. Its a fancy resturant and not cheap but the food is good and you can see the fireworks from your table or go outside to see them.

If you're going to the MVMCP I expect you'll want to eat first and be in the park for the fireworks?
DH and I had a nice dinner at Artists Point and there were very few children around.

Another vote for Narcoosee's. Most romantic restaurant at WDW, IMO. (Although I will say I haven't been to Victoria and Albert's)

If you are going the same night as the MVMCP I would suggest going to Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. You can park there and then easily take the boat over to the park afterwards. My husband and I are planning on going there this year for our 5 year Anniversary!

If you will be going to dinner on a different night than the party I would suggest dinner at the California Grill. My husband and I ate there during our honeymoon and it was amazing. I loved watching the fireworks as we ate dinner. We made a note on our reservation that it was our honeymoon and the made it extra special by taking a picture that they gave to us as we left that night.

As of right now they are booked on the night that works for us but they said to call back in case there is a cancelation.

I will have to keep checking if an opening becomes available. I just looked at the food and it looks amazing.

We will be eating the night before the party on His birthday. Im going to see whats available and let him pick.

Victoria and Alberts looks very nice but a little out of our comfort zone. ( it looks very very fancy)

Thanks I really am liking the menu at California Grill. I may have to look into a different night.

Victoria & Albert's is FANTASTIC! However, it's definitely for dedicated foodies as the food is all very grand and a bit exotic. (There's a reason why they don't admit kids under 12) It is also OOP and really REALLY expensive (figure abt $200-225/person with tip but without wine!) Definitely something to consider for a major anniversary if your tastes change in a few more years.

Dinner at V&A's is "pamperific", elegant and the experience of a lifetime if you're foodies like we are.

Cali Grill has very good food, much more laid back atmosphere, great service and a fantastic view. A really great choice, IMO.

In my opinion you dont have to be a foodie to attend V&A. In no shape or form are my husband and I foodies but for our honeymoon we are celebrating with the Chefs Table at V&A. Neither one of us has an extremely varied food taste but we want to have a little adventure and decided that this was a great way to do it. V&A might be expensive but who doesnt want that glorious romantic dinner on their honeymoon. I think if your willing to brave a little something you have never had then you might find your tastebuds screaming for more. I can't wait, and hope in the end my foodie world opens up to more exotic tastes. All in all dont ever be afraid to try something new. However if its too much then try "Eating around the world" in EPCOT's World Showcase, this is something I LOOOOVE to do and i get to explore food from around the world. So.....go and have fun and dont be afraid to explore the food world.....you dont have to be a foodie to do it.

Perhaps I expressed myself badly. Of course, one doesn't have to be a foodie to enjoy a meal at V&A's. However, I think the careful attention to detail and high cuisine will probably appeal more to the "foodie" type than to someone who just wants a good steak with loaded baked potato and salad.

I certainly didn't mean to suggest that anyone else isn't good enough to eat there, that's for sure.
