About the PassPorter Hotel Reviews: How to Use and Post Your Own!

How to Use Our Reviews and Post Your Own

We've long felt that vacationer reviews are very valuable, which is why we include numerical ratings in our guidebooks and provide avenues for our readers to give us feedback. This special forum consolidates reviews in an easy-to-use and easy-to-sort place. Use the forum to learn about and research vacationer experiences before your trip! Here are some tips:

The Listings:
There is a review thread for each hotel on Disney property, default sorted by name (alphabetical). The introduction to each review gives an overview of the resort and information on where to find our official published review, feature articles, and photos of the resort. We also include a short personal review, as well as our numerical ratings (which correspond to those we publish in our guidebook).

Tip: Don't see the Orlando-area hotel you're interested in? Please contact the Guides for the forum (Jenny Pooh, Disneybine, CRCrazy, HiddenMickey) and request that the hotel review thread be created.

Sorting the Listings
The hotels are listed in alphabetical order by default. To re-sort, click the Review Tools button to reveal a menu (see image) -- choose the type of information you'd like to sort by and the page will re-load in your preferred order.

Tip: You can search the reviews, too! Click the Search These Reviews button on the far right, type in your search word(s), and click Go.

Mark Your Favorites
You can mark individual resorts as favorites to aid you in planning or just for fun. To do this, click the checkbox in the overview post at the start of each hotel review thread (see image). Checking this box will place the words LOVE IT! next to the name of the thread (for your eyes only), so you can see your favorites at a glance.

Tip: Use this Favorite feature to mark hotels you're considering for your vacation!

Post Your Own Review
The main purpose of this review forum is to gather YOUR reviews of the hotels you've stayed in, for the benefit of everyone. Writing a review is easy -- just click the Review button near the top of the listings and fill in both the numerical ratings and the text field with your written review. The more information, the better! Helpful information to include:
* How many times you've stayed at the hotel, including the date of your most recent stay.
* The type of room you stayed in (even the room number if you have it).
* Links to any trip reports or photos you have of the resort. You may include the images themselves, so long as they meet our image guidelines for size (640 x 480 or smaller) and are fewer than five in number.
* Explanations of any really low or high numerical ratings you gave.
* Pros and cons of the resort, in your personal opinion.

Things you should not do:
* Comment on other vacationer's reviews -- if you want to do this, please start a new thread in the Staying in Style forum to discuss the hotel.
* Leave a numerical rating without at least some text to explain WHY you rated it the way you did.
* Ask questions about the hotel. Please ask in the Staying in Style forum.
(Posts which do any of the above will either be moved or removed altogether.)

Once your review is posted, it will immediately appear in the review thread. Your ratings will be averaged with the other member ratings and this average will appear in the list view.

You may return to your review to edit it, and we encourage you to do this if you stay at the hotel again. IMPORTANT: Please note that you may need to re-enter your numerical ratings if you edit your review, so you may wish to note your ratings before you click the Edit button.

Smile Port Orleans - French Quarter- Love it!

As a retiree who travels with Grandchildren and their parents, the convenience of the French Quarter can't be beat. We park the van, check in, ride the bus to all of the parks and the boat to Downtown Disney. We don't usually move the van until time to go home. We are usually very tired after a day at one of the parks and it is nice not to have to walk too much after we get off the bus. The food court is adequate for us, the gift shop nice. A short walk to Riverside to the larger gift shop is still convenient. The rooms are clean, large enough since we don't stay in the room except to bathe and sleep. I will continue to stay in this hotel. My husband and I were there alone in October and we had a water view and it was so nice. This was our fourth stay there and we hope to stay again soon.

I have a quick question about how the stars are assigned to the member rating part of the resort information. I'm asking this question becuase I was just looking over the Hotel Reviews section, (LOVE it, BTW,) and noticed only three stars for one of our favorite resorts, OKW. Only two people besides the authors reviewed it, but they gave it a 7 and a 9 in the overall rating. Wouldn't this mean something like an 8 star rating? Just curious because we love OKW and I hate to see it get a bad wrap.

Thanks for providing this great service! (I'm not trying to complain.) I love Passporter and really appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention, TinkOhio -- I will look into it and find a way to correct it.

My question is about the category "accessibility". Does that mean accessibilty to the parks or room accessiblity as in handicap?

Coronado vs. Carribean ??

We had our first amaaazing trip with our two boys this past Christmas and stayed at Coronado Springs. We loved it! However, we decided each year we should stay somewhere different for a new experience. Would love the opinions of anyone who has stayed at both Coronado and the Carribean. We don't want to be disappointed. Though I'm not sure that's possible at Disney. : ) Thanks for any input!
