DL next week!! Two dining questions...

We'll be at DL next week (yeah!!). We've made a reservation for Steakhouse 55 our last night but wondering, is there anywhere off the grounds that's not too hard to get to (ie; cheap cab ride) that we might be interested in instead? We're already doing Blue Bayou and the Japanese place (which name escapes me right now and I'll remember when I hit the submit button).

Also, will most places let you just get a plate for your kid or do you have to order off the kids menu? My daughter is 4 and I find there's too much food on the kids menu and too much food for me to eat anyway.

TIA!

If you're interested in steak, there's a Morton's steak house and a Ruth's Criss on Harbor. They're past the convention center (too far to walk,) but I'd guess that a cab would be less than $10. In the same area there's also a Buca di Beppo, which I love. But, all of them are not unique to Disney (or California even) places. Given that, I'd probably stick with Steakhouse 55 unless something has particular appeal to you.

Where can I find cheap places to eat, or the best food for your buck?

Napa Rose in the Grand Californian is great. Pricy but the food is absolutely fabulous. There are quite a few restaurants in the surrounding area outside of Disney. There is a Mimi's, Tony Roma's Ribs, I-Hop, Dennys, Tillys Cafe, and McDonalds. If you have a car - down the street there are more restaurants like Red Robin, Morton's Steakhouse etc. Also, Knotts Berry Farm is only 15-20 min away and they have a nice restaurant outside their park, plus there is a Claim Jumper, Po Folks and Red Lobster. Hope this helps.
