| Some of our favourites there included the Napa Rose, Ariel's Grotto and Hook's Pointe and Goofy's Kitchen (Disneyland Hotel) and Yamabuki (Paradise Pier).

| All of Cheryl's picks are great places. I would add Storytellers to that list.

| For coun ter service, my favorite at DL is Redd Rocket's, back by Space Mountain. They have pasta, salads, and pizza by the slice. At DCA, I always try to go to Taste Pilot's Grill. Love their chili fries, chicken salad, also have a fixings bar for their burgers.

| I can't quibble with any of those suggestions for table service! At Disneyland park we are also partial to breakfast or lunch at Carnation Cafe. Simple, but satisfying, with really nice atmosphere when the weather is good (which it often is, being where it is). Blue Bayou is almost impossible to get into, but I'd credit 75% of that demand to the atmosphere. The food is satisfying, but no match for the setting. Try to get in just once for the experience, but don't worry if you can't - ride Pirates and see it from the waterside. Overall, I'm not thrilled with DL's quick service, but in general I'd rather do quick service in New Orleans Square than anyplace else in Disneyland park (well, the grilled chicken at Rancho de Zocalo is satisfying, too, but the rest of its menu items are average)... DCA still has a way to go in the world of dining. For table service, only The Vinyard Room makes sense. Its real problem is that it's just a short walk from Napa Rose at the Grand Californian, which is an even better execution of a similar idea. For quick service, I recently had some satisfying ribs at Taste Pilots (the three-rib portion was enough for me), but I'm never going to be truly happy with fast service burgers, since they have to be well-done. Ugh! The salads and soups-in-bread bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe push my buttons nicely, although the soup would seem a better value at about a dollar less (one of the few bread bowl soups where I feel I haven't gotten my money's worth unless I down every crust). I ought to have sampled the corn dogs at Corn Dog Castle... they looked ohhh so good this time around - better than I remember from previous visits. But who knows for sure? memory and appetite can be funny things sometimes. We had a really memorable dinner recently at Downtown Disney's Catal. We were seated at a window upstairs, and between the magical nighttime view of Downtown and the wonderful Mediterranean menu (it took us back to our visit to Barcelona), the service, and the quality of the meal... It's getting bumped up one number in the ratings in the upcoming edition of PassPorter's Disneyland. The situation for food outside the gates and beyond the Disney hotels has improved recently, with the (partial) opening of nearby Garden Walk (it'll be fully open by the end of May). While there aren't any new and original restaurants open at the moment (there will be some later on), it has a very satisfying line-up of better chain eateries, including a Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, McCormick and Schmick, P.F. Chang's, and Bubba Gump. None of these will transport your tastebuds to the mountaintops, but they beat the nearby alternatives (Harbor and Katella have always been something of a culinary wasteland).

Storytellers' dinner buffet is so-so, so if you try it, consider ordering off the menu, which is better.
