| There are several wonderful restaurants at DLR. My absolute favourite is the Napa Rose at the Grand Californian. It's a very upscale establishment. We also really enjoyed the Steakhouse and Hooke's Pointe at the Disneyland Hotel, the Vineyard Room and the Trattoria at DCA (Italian cuisine) and Tortilla Joe's at Downtown Disney (Mexican food). For atmosphere, you can't beat Blue Bayou (Cajun cuisine). Our favourite of the character meals overall was the Storyteller's Cafe at the Grand Californian. The best character interaction for us was actually at Minnie's breakfast at the Plaza but the food wasn't that great there. Joy

| We really enjoyed our meals last time at the Napa Rose at the Grand Californian, Ariel's Grotto in the California Adventure, Hook's Pointe in the Disneyland Hotel and Yamabuki in the Paradise Pier resort. We enjoyed Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel for character dining, although the characters did take a very long time to get round to us. ![]()

| Having eaten at Blue Bayou almost every time I visit DL, I give it thumbs up. But, I tend to get sick every time as well. It is a damp atmosphere and I seem to always catch a cold. I really like Bengal Barbecue though was disappointed in it in April. We were one of the first in line and the food came out cold and was not grilled on the BBQ at the restaurant as it was not even fired up yet. Yamabuki in the Paradise Pier Resort was very good. We sat at the sushi bar and had great conversation with the chefs, though some of them were hard to understand. They make a raspberry mojito that is to die for! But, as we were leaving, the manager brought out frozen fish. That's a big no-no for sushi places. Still, if I had eaten some of the frozen fish in the sushi I had, I wouldn't have guessed.Ariel's Grotto in the California Adventure was good about 4 yrs ago (the last time I ate there.) Lots of character interaction and outside seating was pleasant. A place that surprised me was Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante. I guess I never realized this restaurant was there. Always walked by and never stopped in. It was yummy and they were great with my food allergy (don't assume the enchiladas are made with corn tortillas!) Covered and outside seating. The best part of this place, the bathrooms! They are hidden back by the restaurant's entrance. Being so, they weren't busy. In the morning at DL, hubby got a great sweet roll at the Blue Ribbon Bakery and a cup of coffee. It was so big he couldn't finish it. We use to eat at The Golden Horseshoe. I have fond memories of it, but haven't tried it lately. I remember it being fun as you get food and a show. And you have to grab a churro at a street vendor. I swear DL has the best churros. Stay away from the Rainforest Cafe in DTD. The wait was horrible (this was after we were shown to our level for seating.) The service even worse and the food... don't get me started on how bad the food was. Did you know their blue crab dip is made with imitation crab? Would guess it by the price, but because of my food allergy, I found out. Tried to eat at the ESPN Zone in DTD, but couldn't get served. We were upstairs in the gaming area and the waitress ignored us (and every other table). The empty ones weren't clean and the full ones didn't get service. We moved to the bar which had better service, but the noise was way too much for us.

| DLR - hmmmm, not a huge fan of Blue Bayou, though it was a tradition as a child. But that's the only sit-down. Like Joby/Lil, I really like Rancho del Zocalo, simply because it's so different from other counter-service fare. DCA - LOVE Pacific Wharf Cafe and Wine Country Trattoria. When the kids are a bit older, we'll most likely try The Vineyard Room, but haven't thus far. The corn dogs from the Corn Dog Castle are huge (seriously, they measure around 10 inches long) and are really good. In a pinch, with fussy young eaters, it's nice to know there's a McDonald's. I know, I know! But it really helped on a grumpy day, to get that for the kids while we ate soup in a bread bowl! DTD - I've never eaten at DTD. When we go to the parks, we stay in the parks. Most of the restaurants can be found elsewhere (Rainforest Cafe in MGM Grand here) and that's in my mind even though I'll probably never visit them in their "home" states. Resorts - We ate a Hook's Pointe and liked it, but the one we always do (and it serves as our character meal every year) is Goofy's Kitchen. DH repeatedly states that we'll go there even if we don't have the kids! Basic buffet food, but it's good (not "great!") and it's such a fun atmosphere. I'd take it over Storytellers' buffet.
