Well DL have just announced POTC will be closed from October 13 which I assume means BB will be closed as well and I was planning to go on the 15th! Now my only opportunity is the day we arrive which is Sunday 12th. The problem is we arrive at LAX from Orlando at 12.43pm so that means early lunch to get a waterview is out!

Does anyone know what time lunch ends and dinner starts? We might try and make a late lunch! I really wanted to try a Monte Christo!

I wouldn't assume Blue Bayou will close just becuse Pirates is closed. Maybe there won't be anyone floating by on the bayou, but that shouldn't affect the kitchen.

Why is Pirates closing?

Well, that just blows! Why is PotC going to be closed? If they stick to that date, we'll miss by a day!

You never know! It probably will depend on why Pirates is going down for rehab. I tried asking an inside source, but as you know, dead men tell no tales.

Probably best not to ask one of those animatronics again - they tend to just give out the same old line!

The PotC rehab has been taken off the website. So BB should be a go for our trip at the end of October.

Well Hello All, I am a newbie and a former CM for Disney, so I still have a TON of friends that work there and what I heard is that it is NOT going down as of now but it is going to go down and soon for a total refurb and when they do go down the restaurant will be closed also and the CM's from that restaurant will be working at Club 33 for awhile. My hubby works there also.... So just thought I would share.

You mean PotC might be open in October while I'm there...?

What happens if you make reservations for the BB and they do decide to shut down for refurb. Will Disney call and advise you of the change?

Well they are SUPPOSED to call you, and offer you the option to eat at another restaurant but that doesnt always happen. I would keep up with the web site and see if they post a refurb date. I will actually ask my hubby to get me the Cast Line tomorrow and see if they have listed anything yet. And if they do announce a refurb then call ASAP and ask for accomidations at another restaurant. They are generally very good about that. You can send me a PM if ya want.

Yes I noticed only a couple of days ago that POTC was off the refurb list. I thought for awhile I must have got it wrong. So very happy that I can go back to my original plans. I intend making my PS as soon as they open this week which means a 1.00am phone call from Australia!

Will they let me make PS for a day later in the week or do I have to ring back?

No you didn't get the refurb of PotC wrong. As soon as it was posted on this thread I went to the site to check it out. It was on there. Now the train station in New Orleans is slotted to be shut down. Makes me wonder if that area is going thru a whole refurb.

As for PS... I asked a similar question in another thread. I was wondering if you have to call 60 days from when you want to eat there or if you can call 60 days from when you have hotel reservations. If it is the first, I'll be making two separate phone calls. But, mine will be cheaper than calling from Australia!

Since you're not staying at any Disney properties, my guess is that you have to do 60 days from each date you want. I'm not sure about staying at the hotels and if that affords one any extras - WDW allows up to 10 days from your first day, but that's only if you're staying on property, which is much more common there than at DLR.

If you have a reservation at one of the Disney Hotels, you can contact a vacation planner by phone or by email at your convenience, and they'll make all your arrangements (dining, tours, special packages, etc.), e-mail you a copy, and have one available when you check in. It's a very nice service.

No, not staying at a DL property. So, I'll have to wait and book from when we want to actually eat.
