| Pink's? I am flying into LAX on a Tuesday around lunch time. I have seen Pink's hotdogs on the Travel Channel and would like to give it a try. Hoping to get info from some of you who have eaten there. Is there somewhere to sit, it is very crowded, is it as good as it seems? I will be pushed for time so I thought I would check it out on the boards!

| I don't live in LA, so I have limited experience... but my impression is that there's always a long line at Pink's. There's not a lot of space to sit, and not a lot of space to park - it's an old-fashioned, small fast food stand, with a huge reputation. Like many places of the sort, sometimes reality doesn't match up with high expectations. Pink's is more famous for the toppings than for the dogs themselves - there are lots of other, quality dogs out there, but few places that do toppings like Pink's. I'd schedule Pink's as an experience (like visiting a theme park) rather than as a way to fill your stomach when you're hungry and likely to get ornery. As an alternate way to get a really cool lunch experience in the general Hollywood area, try heading to the LA Farmer's Market instead. It'll also be crowded, but you'll have a lot more choices of interesting places to eat.

I'm going to be honest here from my opinion - others may see it differently! *Parking wasn't too much of a problem. It is a large street and we found metered parking quickly on the same block. *There was a line! All of us tourists who just had to try Pinks!*The restaurant is run-down. Not a clean, shining diner style, but an old-fashioned snack shack at a drive-in that has had no upkeep. *It's a place to say "I've been to Pink's". And that's about the only reason to go. You most in likely won't see a celebrity. *The dogs weren't overly special - Dave's right that it's the toppings (a lot of different choices, specially named). Having said all of this - Would we do it again? But it's fun seeing something on TV about Pink's and being able to say - we've been there!

| I was just there on a Sunday afternoon 2 weeks ago and we waited one hour for our food. I was there last December on a rainy Friday evening and we waited about 20 minutes. I really don't think that is is worth the wait. The hot dogs are ok but there are many other LA places to eat. |

| WOW.. I am so sad to hear the bad reviews about Pink's. But that's okay. I am gonna tell you all my experience. I LOVE IT. I live about 15 minutes from Pinks and we go ALL the time. The people know us there. We are "REGULARS" Yes the Lines may be a bit long sometimes and no you wont ALWAYS see a movie star, but come on now they don't sit around an old hot dog stand waiting for tourist's to show up.. LOL.. The food is amazing and yes it is ALL ABOUT the toppings but the dog's are good too. I actually really enjoy the Chicken Fajita Burrito or the Three Dog Knight which is a hot dog burrito. YUMMY. Okay now I'm hungry and I want Pink's. As far as it being a tourist trap or just a place to say that you have been, I think it is well worth the trip and there is parking and Valet Parking also. Thats what I think. ~J~
