| Healthy dining at DLR My mom and I are both members of weight watchers and will be at DL in Apr. We are really trying to stay true to our plan this time (as opposed the blowing it the last time we were there). I was just looking for suggestions for great places to eat with healthier choices. I know we loved the fairfax market for fruit as a snack in the middle of the day, but I would love to have anyone's healthy choices for eating meals inside the parks or hotels |

| This might assist you in picking the right places to eat while at DLR. Click on the following link to AllEars.net web site and look at the different menus of most of the restaurants in the parks and hotels. Dining at the Disneyland Resort Hope this does help. I know that we used the WDW part of her web site when we planed our 10 day stay at WDW back in Sept and it was a big help for us at that time. Good luck and good healthy eating. |

| At Disneyland Park, I like the Bengal Barbecue. They serve grilled skewers individually. The chicken skewer and the bacon-wrapped asparagus are both very good. There is also a veggie skewer though I have not tried that one. This is not the least expensive option as each skewer is $3 plus, and you'll need 3 at least to make a meal. However, it is one of the tastiest counter service eateries in the park and definitely has healthy options. At California Adventure, Award Wieners in the Hollywood Backlot area has a portabello mushroom Philly sandwich which you can get with sliced apples as a side (instead of a bag of chips). You will also find Schmoozies near Award Wieners which offers very nice smoothies blended with fresh fruit and lowfat yogurt. Next to the Soarin' over CA ride at the Taste Pilot's Grill, there is a grilled chicken breast sandwich with BBQ sauce and side salad option. Hope this helps and please let us know what else you find. |

| I tried to be "good" and selected the sliced apples instead of the fries at one place, and the apples were terrible. They had a bitter taste to them from the preservatives used to keep them fresh. It was really awful, and I feel sorry for the kids that are made to eat their apple before they can eat other things. Maybe I just had a bad batch? They were just not very pleasant to eat. A lot of the places have salads, just order them with the dressing on the side. You can get a pineapple spear at the Dole place, and the juice is good for you, too. Even the Dole Whip and soft serve has less calories than ice cream. I can't remember if there is a sugar free ice cream option, never look for that! At DCA, there is a huge stand that sells all kinds of fruits and veggies to snack on, including apple slices with peanut butter.
