| Panic - fat free dining I just had to have my gall bladder removed (3 weeks before leaving for DL!), I feel fine but any fat is going to be a no-no for a while. Anyone have suggestions for DL dining? I know there's lots of places in DW for healthy stuff but when I looked at the menus at allears.net for DL I don't see as many options.

| I can't speak specifically for your fat free options, but I just wanted to remind you that if you have any plans for sit down meals, be sure to contact DLR to let them know ahead of time. The chefs are really good about planning around any special dining needs. If you like salads, there are some good salad options at counter service spots throughout DLR. |

| Great question! I'm flyin' without my gallbladder as well, so I know what a lot of fried, fatty food can do to your body. I would imagine that grilled items would be a great choice. Salads, veggies, and baked potatoes would also fit into your eating plan. I would call DL dining and discuss your concerns. It's my first trip there soon, but I can't imagine they'd be drastically different than WDW in wanting to accommodate you. :

| There are fruit stands in Disneyland and DCA, which may help when it comes to snacking. Most restaurants have salads and/or sandwiches - ask for condiments on the side. Wish I could be more helpful. But I did see this on allears: Quote:

| I'm 9 years out from my gall bladder surgery and I don't have to worry about it at all. I want to say that I never really did, but I may just not remember having to watch it. The good news is that you shouldn't have to restrict yourself forever, take your cues from your own body and just try a little bit of "regular" food at a time. Give the places that you have ADRs a call and let them know that you're concerned about the menu. The Disney Chef's are always helpful.

| I had mine out about 3 years ago and don't remember ever having restrictions. Hopefully your issues will resolve quickly and you won't need to worry as much about the foods you eat. (Of course, it's always healthier to eat a low-fat diet- it's just hard to do every day!)

I don't eat completely fat free, but I still can't eat a lot of deep fried or high fat food without stomach upset. :If you want a cheeseburger, try mixing the beef with veggies to bulk up the fiber. Things like mushrooms, peppers, etc. are a great way to fill out lean ground beef or turkey.

| I haven't been to Disney before, but I looked through all the restaurant descriptions partially because I like to eat healthy food when I can. A couple that I noticed that seem to have a lot of healthy fare are The Wave in Disney's Contemporary Resort and Wolfgang Puck in Downtown Disney. Also, if you eat fish the Coral Reef in Epcot looks amazing and you can always order it prepared in a healthy manner. As well, ethnic food (if you like that sort of thing) tends to be healthier than a lot of American choices. There are 3 restaurants with African food and a couple of Japanese ones. I also intend to bring some of my own snacks down - mixed nuts and granola bars. |

| I am a big fan of grilled chicken while on vacation, and salads. but watch the dressing, order fat free or low fat. |
