adults eating kids meals

Has any adult out there ordered a kids meal for themselves? Did anyone say anything?

I had gall bladder surgery about 3 weeks ago and am having a lot of difficulty eating anything with fat in it. One of the things my doctor recommended was eating several small meals each day instead of 2 or 3 large ones. I know Disney portions tend to be huge which is why I thought of the kids meals. But I don't want to do anything that will get me in trouble or do something that is considered incredibly rude.

You should be fine. You can get a GAC card at customer service or just let
the server know that you need the kids meal because of medical issues. I
had to order from the kids meal because of my lapband and didn't have
any problems. I also had my gall bladder out and that makes so much sense.
Just make sure you note the bathrooms nearest you when you are about to
eat. TMI I know but very useful after gall bladder surgery.

I'd really be surprised if a cast member gave you a hard time on that one! Unless it is an all-you-can-eat buffet, I honestly think no one would make a fuss. I suppose a GAC would take care of any question, though.

Hope you have a happy trip!

I do it all the time at counter service and some table service places, depending on the portions served. I have a small appetite. Nobody has ever had a problem with it. At a buffet I pay for an adult meal (although we don't do many buffets because my daughters and I don't eat enough to justify the cost) but other than that, no problem.

I would just check with Guest Services first off and tell them your condition. A note from your Doctor might help also. However, I can not see you being questioned about ordering from the kids menu unless of course you were wanting to eat at a buffet. They may seriously question that, in which case, you pay the adult price and only eat what you can handle. I am not sure they would issue a GSA card in this case but who am I to say one way or another. I pray that what ever information/help you get will only add to your 'magical' stay with Disney.

I order from kids' menus frequently myself. The only place I think it'd be an issue is the buffet style fixed price meals (such as Goofy's Kitchen or the other character meals).

I've ordered kids meals (CS) before and no one ever said anything. I felt a little weird at first since we didn't have any kids w/ us but no one ever said anything or asked who the meal was for. The only place you couldn’t order a child's meal is at a buffet. Have a good time!

If you're going to do TS, then I would get a GAC. My friend tried to order a child meal at Blue Bayou for her 13 yr old, and they wouldn't let her. (The kids menu was the only thing that appealed to her DD.) At a CS, they wouldn't know, and don't ask.
