Question Which Character Breakfast is Best??

I have a friend bringing her 3 year old to Disneyland in a few weeks and she wants to do a character breakfast - she has narrowed her choices down to the Minnie & Friends breakfast - where she'll have to pay $15 for her son - even though he probably won't eat much (if anything) - or The Chip 'N Dale Critter Breakfast where they can order for him off the menu.

What is the difference in characters who are at each locale, food quality, etc...

Which would you take YOUR 3 year old to?

I need your thoughts and ideas ASAP so I can let her know!

Thanks!!

The Chip and Dale breakfast is at the Storyteller's restaurant at the Grand CA Hotel, we have been there - it had Chip and Dale, Meeko (Raccoon from Pocahontas), the 2 bears from Brother Bear. The Minnie and Friends is at the Plaza Inn in DL, we have been there as well, it had a wide variety of different characters, I can't even remember them all right now. We liked both, Storyteller's offers the buffet or ordering from menu, Plaza Inn is Buffeteria style, you go to different areas and ask the server for what you want. They plate it and give it to you. We found Plaza Inn louder than Storyteller's but both are lots of fun.

You over looked the breakfast buffet at Paradise Pier, PCH Grill aka Lilo & Stitch, they also have a menu breakfast. Then there is also Goofy's Kitchen buffet at the disneyland Hotel. In California Adventure there is Ariel's Grotto Princess Breakfast, this isn't a buffet but you do get a whole lot of food from a 'fixed' menu, it is served 'family style'. We prefer Storytellers, then Goofy's and then Plaza Inn (in that order) for our buffet breakfast, even though we do not have children. It warms the heart to see all of the other kids having the time of their life at these buffets.

I think it partially depends on the family's feelings about characters. If you're looking for a straight "Disney" experience, then Minnie and Friends or Goofy is the way to go. Example, I truly dislike Stitch - so much so that I refuse to let the kids watch the movie or shows. So, there's no way I'm paying money for the PCH breakfast!

Minnie & Friends can get very crowded - we were there for a breakfast when it was Princesses - and it was a fiasco! We were very disappointed with the service of food and the lines to get said food (it's slower than a typical buffet, since you have to wait to be served the food by someone). Goofy's, on the other hand, was set up as a character restaurant and is designed for the ease of getting food and seeing characters.

I've heard good things about Storytellers, but again, you're not seeing any standard characters - it's all the "critters" that fit into the Forest theme of the restaurant and resort. Breakfast there is much better than dinner (at least, at the buffet).

Heather, you and I think alike when it comes to the PCH Grill breakfast. I have never liked Lilo and Stitch but we just had to give the place one try, we did and didn't like it so we don't go back. Storytellers we did like as well as Goofy's. Plaza Inn isn't so bad now that the Princesses are not there.

I hadn't forgotten about the other breakfasts, in fact I could've told here lots about the others - it's just that they are only interested in one of the two I mentioned. Thank you all so much for your insight - we haven't done a character breakfast since Goofy's Kitchen back in the early 90's so I had no idea what to tell my friend!!!

Thanks!!!

When our youngest (almost 6 now) was 3 we took him to Goofy's Kitchen, Ariel's Grotto & Storyteller Cafe. He loved all the characters even the girls. He would make goo-goo eyes with all the girls, makes for some really cute pictures. Now he's getting a little older and the princesses aren't his first pick. If the little one isn't scared from the characters he'll probably love them all.

I LOVE Storytellers for breakfast. You can't go wrong there. The food was great, the character interaction was great. We really enjoyed breakfast there and will definitely go back again.

Our favourite to date is the PCH Grill - we had some great character interaction there and wonderful food.
