a few very stupid questions, lol.

These are regarding the Blue Bayou restaurant. We are going to DL on a Saturday with family (somewhat of a family reunion) and then coming back on the following Tuesday and that will just be myself, my husband, my little brother and my daughter. We are looking in to going to the blue bayou for an early dinner (we are having a late bfest) say around 3 or 3:30pm. Here are my questions:
1. I am a somewhat picky eater... has anyone tried the short ribs? Are they really spicey? I am allergic to pultry and seafood so it limits my choices, lol.
2. How far in advance do I need to make reservations, and how do I do that?
I have more but of course i forgot them. UGH!

I don't remember the short ribs being spicy at all, and even if they were, they couldn't have been that spicy because I don't like heavily spiced foods and remember enjoying the short ribs.

As for ressies, I'll leave that to the reservations experts here. I'm a local, and I hardly ever make ADRs at DLR because if I can't get in somewhere as a walk-in, I know I'll be back again very soon. I do know, though, that the few times I've made ADRs at DLR, I've made them only a week or two in advance and have been lucky enough to get in close to the time I want. However, if you're thinking about Blue Bayou on a Saturday, I'd call at least a month in advance. If it's for the Tuesday, I think a few weeks ought to be good. Plus, the time that you want isn't very busy, so that will also work in your favor. Good luck!

You can't call more than 60 days in advance. For a place as popular as Blue Bayou, I recommend calling once you have your plans set. No sense leaving it to chance! Aside from the character meals, most other sit down meals (that require Priority Seating (PS)) can be made that morning, even. It's what we normally do when we eat at Wine Country Trattoria in DCA.

If you are allergic to poultry and seafood, another option could be the Monte Cristo sandwich (if you decide not to try the short ribs) - it's their signature dish and since it's cold cuts, you may be able to get it without the turkey...

Let them know of your allergies when you call and then, talk to your server about it when you get there. You never know what the chef might suggest as an alternative...

The steak options at the Blue Bayou are also good, if you like beef.

I can't comment on the food as all I have ever eaten there is the Monte Cristo.

As far as Priority Seating goes, like was mentioned before, if you haven't done so already, make one as soon as you can. Since I didn't see anyone post it before, the number for Disneyland Dining is: 714-781-DINE

A friend of ours has a special diet requirement and when they called to make their reservations, she told the CM and then again the server and the chef came out to see what she would like to eat. He made a special dinner for her and they didn't over charge her for the meal either. For sure call ahead of time to make your reservations, no matter what, and made a point of telling them at this time you can't eat this or that. Then when you are seated, again inform your server of these things. I would be very interested to learn later what it was they either suggested or what they did to work around these restrictions. Whatever happens, enjoy your stay at DL and your meal at BB.
