Yes make sure to go before 4 if you want the Monte Cristo, I been awhile since I had it. Since they jack up the prices and moved that item off the dinner menu.
I know it's a sandwich, but if it is such a good seller, I'm surprise they don't keep the MC on the menu for dinner.
They really do not know over the phone if you make the ARD for BB about when they take the MC off the Menu so I hope people will fine this before requesting a dinner resse
Does this mean it was not offered on the menu when you were there, or you just didn't order it??
It is still listed on the Disney website menu page:
The Flying Dutchman Cookie Boat
Warm chocolate chip cookie boat, served with Dreyer's vanilla~bean ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce - $8.99
I was really looking forward to this - we are celebrating our grandson's 8th birthday there and he is a HUGE pirate fan - that cookie boat would make his entire meal!

...Tahitian Terrace has an updated kitchen and a CM manager of another restuarant said it is just sitting there unused and there is hopes that it be reopened with a possible Stitch or Jungle Book or Aladdin or something type of show. Let us hope that they realize that families want good food for a good price and sit down meals.
I do know that they plan to remodel the Disneyland Hotel courtyard area completely - adding a "Tahitian style" restaurant and bar there, so I was hoping it would resemble that old restaurant!! I remember eating there and watching the dance show every time we went to Disneyland - it was a huge highlight of our trip!
It would be AWESome for them to put in a Jungle Book or Aladdin themed "something" in that old location by the JBCruise - I would love to see that area filled again!
The DLR definitely seems to be lacking in the restaurant choices - you'd think Disney would make that a priority - meals bring in extra dollars for them! LOL

Especially in CA in making more sit down restaurants. WDW has tons of them and it seem to be work ok. Like The Field Of Dream it says "If you build it they will come."
The Monte Cristo is still on the lunch menu at the BB, just taken off the dinner menu. I ate at the BB last year and loved it! My dinner was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. I don't know that I will eat there every time I am at DLR, but I would definitely go back.
If the Monte Cristo is what you are looking for, try Cafe Orleans directly across from the BB. They have the sandwich on their menu all day and it is $6 cheaper! I got my Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans during my trip. I also scheduled a late dinner on purpose and sat outside and got to see the parade/water show right in front of me! Great reservation!
Also, the chicken gumbo is to die for. I wish they delivered it, because it is sooooo good. I don't think there is much that isn't wonderful there.
Ask for a water-side table. It's so fun to watch the riders on POTC point and wave at you! (I am so easily entertained... )
lol that funny,
It would be fun if a group of passporter go the for lunch or something dress in pirates costumes and really entertain them , they yelling Yohoe there mate hope you make in one pice lol lol
The pirate boat is FANTASTIC!

During our trip (20-26 July 2010) we ate at the BB twice (Day 2 & Day 7)
and neither time was the cookie boat available.
The Monte Cristo was delicious (we ordered it both times) as was the chicken and the steaks! (We all shared and tasted each other's dishes.) None of us had ANY complaints about any of the various things we ordered each time!
Both days we requested a waterside table and never had more than a 10 minute wait beyond out priority seating times.
We never felt rushed or hurried through our meals - in fact, the second time I think the waiter actually forgot to put in our order because we had a long gap after our salads/appetizers and he came by and mentioned ordering dessert - then went rushing away like he was embarrassed... and our meals came about another 20 minutes later! LOL!
We certainly didn't mind of course - the ambiance is just soooo delightful and it was our last day - heading out to catch the plane home that evening. What a wonderful last place to have a meal that ended up lasting about 90 minutes total!!
It is the absolute BEST place to go during the heat of the day and the only complaint we had was perhaps that they could brighten/intensify the fireflies across the water a bit! Haha!!
Definitely a highlight (twice) of our trip!!
...I already want to go back! LOL!
