Is Blue Bayou worth the money? Have always wanted to eat there. I am planning a trip in June and I wanted to eat there for my DD's 13th bday dinner. My girls would absolutely love watching the boats pass from POTC. It isjust so expensive and I am wondering if the food is worth the price. I know atmosphere is a lot of it.
I haven't eaten there, but I really really want to. I read from a TR on here that really enjoyed their meal there. When we talked about going there, it was at the top of my list.
For me, it's more about the atmosphere. Last time we were there, the service was really lacking (May 2010). The food is good, but I wouldn't call it excellent. Still, it is an experience and if it's something you've always wanted to do, then try it! Be sure you book ADR and state that you prefer a table by the water. They won't guarantee it, but your preference will be noted. Remind them when you check in as well. Personally, our family has given up a table to wait for the next available by the water. It's well worth it.
I like the atmosphere of the Blue Bayou. However, to me, the food is just so-so. Only the tables next to the railing can see the boats as they pass by. So, unless you get lucky, you may have a bit of a wait. For the money, I prefer Carthy Circle in California Adventure. There is more variety of food, and the open kitchen is pretty cool to watch.
I agree way more about the atmosphere than the food. Very nice although last time we were there it was very loud and one poor kiddo threw up all over the lobby and my shoes!!!!
