| Sounds like quite an adventure! I've never had the pleasure My daughter did make that drive twice (once solo) and I do believe she did it in 3-4 days.

| I made it from Virginia to CA (the north) in 4 days back in the 70's and I would not do it again driving solo like I did. With two drivers is should work (presuming you are not taking a lot of touristing stops (just gas, food and potty). As for the route, are you planning on just going to DL or to other western points too (SF, Yosemite etc).? and what time of year ?

| That should work. Remember, ignoring sight seeing it is a good 12 hrs of driving from SF to DL. (And I am sure you will take a side trip to Monterey and maybe even do Highway 1 along the coast (which can add several hours to the trip). ![]()

| Actually, it should only take you about 6 hours to get from San Fran to Anaheim. Our best Disney friends live in San Jose and drive that route about 6 times a year. The longest it has ever taken them was 7 hours when they hit some bad weather and heavy traffic. |

| You are correct. I was thinking of the trip from my home which is at least 4 hours to San Jose. You can get delayed both by weather (Fog near the Salinas area, the Pismo Beach area, the Santa Barbara through Ventura area and in LA from LAX to beyond the Long Beach exits) as well as traffic in LA can vary. If you hit the LA area near morning or evening commute it can add 1/2 hr to 1 hour depending on your direction vs the commute direction)

| I read here all the time but registered to post to this. If you've never been to CA before, I'd dip down onto HWY 50 and go through South Lake Tahoe on your way to SF (via Sacramento). It's worth seeing once and maybe stop for lunch. Enjoy the drive. I drove Oklahoma to Sacramento twice a year for 7 years. Sometimes you just need some points of interest along the way to keep it fresh. |

| True - 6 hours from San Jose to Anaheim but add 2 or 3 hours more if you're starting north of that - mid-peninsula or SF itself. San Jose is at the south end of the Bay Area so you don't run into as much traffic. But the further north you start, the more extra time it takes.
