| help with transportation to DL Hi, I'm finally ready to book our airfare from NJ to CA. I checked flights into all of the So Cal. Airports. It's a little cheaper ($45 a person, there are 2 of us flying) to fly into LAX instead of SNA but after all that I've been reading, it looks like it's better to fly into SNA. I was looking at a ride from the Airport to the Disneyland Hotel. I saw the Disneyland Express is available as well as a shared Van. I'm not sure if we should go with that or just get a Taxi or a towncar. I don't want to get stuck on the shuttle for 2 hours. I'm not sure how much a taxi (I think I saw somewhere that it's about $40 or so) or a towncar would cost. I tried the sites in the passporter but I couldn't connect to them. If anyone has any first hand experience that would be great. When we leave DLR we are flying to Vegas. I've been looking at those flights. The best ones I've seen are LGB on Jet Blue for $63 and SNA on US Airways for $74. Which airport is better to fly from and which airline is better, I've never flown on either one. Thanks for all of your help. Kim

| We took the Super Shuttle (1-800-blue-van) from the HoJo to SNA and it cost us $23.60 total for two including tip. We had a pickup window b/w 12:00 and 12:15 and the shuttle was there at 12:13. We got to the airport at 12:40, exactly two hours before our flight. I'd do it again. However, everyone says you wait longer to get a shuttle at the airport vs. at your hotel. LGB is an OK airport. It's the type that boards you via outside stairs from the tarmac. It's not nearly as busy as SNA so flights are rarely delayed due to traffic. Regarding which airline I would prefer, I would choose JetBlue over US Airways. Heck, I think I'd choose walking over taking US Airways. ![]() |

[/QUOTE]After speaking with US Airways yesterday we are taking Jet Blue for sure. The conversation with the rep didn't make me feel very confident flying with them. Thanks for your help!!

| I have been to DL 4 times, once was when we drove there from LV. The first time we went, we flew from Newark to LAX direct. We took a shuttle to & from the airport, which was fine 9although that was back in 1998, I don't think our hotel was first, but i would say it took about 1 1/2 hrs). The other two times we flew into SNA. Neither flight was direct (one from PHL and one from MCO). Both times there we had a rental car. I fly into SNA on the 23rd, and plan on taking the DL Express to get there, but am renting a car for the return. my two cents is this - if you can fly into SNA from your area for a good price and not a large layover, then go for it. I prefer the direct flight, but not LAX... have a great trip!

| Flying into LAX is cheaper than flying into SNA. However SNA is smaller, cleaner and a lot quieter. However, the cost to SNA for me is about $200 more expensive than LAX, So I do end up flying into LAX more often, and then take the Super Shuttle to my hotel near Disneyland. The one way cost is about $14 per person--not bad. But you end up going to every other hotel and it can take 1.5 hours to get from LAX to your hotel if you're the last hotel stop. The shuttle seats around 10 people so there can be 5 stops per shuttle van. But for the price, and not needing to rent a car, I take the Super Shuttle and hope that I'm not the last to get off.

| I think it is well worth the extra money to fly into an airport other than LAX if that is an option. Also, I did the shuttle bus thing on our first trip from LAX (our only airport option from our point of origin) and I swore I would never do it again. It took us well over two hours to get from the airport to the Disneyland Hotel. Our next trip, I splurged and opted for a limo and it was well worth the extra money. I'm sure a taxi would also be a much more relaxing and comfortable option than one of those shuttles. Joy

| We fly into John Wayne and then take Super Shuttle. So far we have only had one problem--unrelated to transportation!!! We got to the motel at 12:30 but could not check in till 3:00!!! We were not experienced then, but know better now. Have fun on your trip.

| We booked our flights and we're flying into SNA, I haven't decided what kind of transportation to take to DL yet. I also decided to fly Jet Blue from LongBeach to Vegas. It looks like a taxi is the best way to get to that airport. Thanks for all of your help!! Passporters are the best!!!

| Our first trip to DL is in April -- we're flying JetBlue from Boston to Long Beach and taking a cab to the hotel. The airport site listed the fare as being $40 flat rate to DL or the Anaheim Convention Center. Having taken shuttles at various airports over the years, I know I'd rather pay a little more per person for a direct trip via taxicab! Ali |

| We've flown from Newark on Continental in and out of SNA with no problems. I'd stay away from UsAir. We've had bad experiences with them out of Philly and Newark. I'm still deciding for this trip how to get to the GC from SNA. We've rented a car before but dont need one this time. I think from reading here I may get a private van.
